Lorelle: GreatGlavinsGhost: Those are horrific! I'll have to add them to my ever-growing list ...Hmmm...haven't seen that before. Great minds think alike . :)Except for Moonlight Feels Right. That was one of the mellowest songs of 1976. And Spiral Starecase was cool way back when.As for other songs from that year, you can add Shannon (about some dude's dog). I also forgot to add a few other gems from the early 1970s: Playground In My Mind, Billy Don't Be A Hero, and Wildwood Weed./still has the 45 of Half Breed//Cher was cool
Aezetyr: I know this is going to make some people all kinds of stabby, but I have to list.Ever been to or watched a sporting event? I will bet dollars to donuts that you heard one or all of these songs, possibly multiple times during said event. Hearing these songs over and over again is like having my ears stabbed with a pencil.1) Welcome to the Jungle2) Crazy Train3) Enter Sandman4) Anything at all by AC/DC5) That "We READY" crap, do not even know the name of the "song".6) Seven Nation Army is starting to annoy the shiatsnacks out of me.Just because it is old, does not make it better. I used to like listening to AC/DC when I was younger. Their music just does not age well./yes, I am over 30//METAL
Magorn: Tell Me How My Blog Tastes: I got kicked out of the "It's a small world" ride at Disney World once with like 10 of my friends. It was our high school graduation trip... they told our HS to never come back./CSB/But yeah that song drove us crazy so we started smashing shiatMy first year at Burning Man, someone had built a full scale replica of that ride with loud-speakers that blared hundreds of different versions of that song (in other languages, speed up, slowed down, techno-ified etc) at all hours of the day and night, and every evening at sunset a big military truck would pull up and dozens of men dressed like commandos, except with steel mouse ears welded to thier helmets, would herd a mob of people dressed in costumes like those in the ride, to the stage and force them at gunpoint to perform the song several times. Except on the last night, just after the performance a woman dressed like the runner in Apple's famous "1984" ad came running up and hurled a satchel charge into the heart of the installation, blowing it into a million pieces and then burning the shards to ash.It was.....the single most beautiful thing I have ever seen
http://youtu.be/IY_bhVSGKEgRobin Sparkles - Let's Go to the MallThe best song of ALL TIME!!!
Lorelle: IC Stars: Seasons in the SunRun Joey RunWatching Scotty Grow/want more?I have the 45 of SitS...the song on the flip side is Put The Bone In. Seriously.Run Joey Run...AKA Quick Joey Small...I remember that one also.and yes, I still have the Kasenetz-Katz Singing Orchestral Circus album that was given to me when I was 6 (it doesn't have QJS on it, though)
rockymountainrider: any version of "Pave Paradise" will have me diving for the radio controls. Pearl Jam's cover of "Last Waltz" too. Sheryl Crow's covers...The Who...actually anything played on mainstream classic rock stations. not that i don't like the bands but i'm certain the rolling stones have a large enough discography that i don't have to listen to "jumpin jack flash, paint it black and start me up" on a regular rotation.same for the who, zep, ac/dc and the rest...mix it up!
Hard Nard: Didn't read the whole thread, but anything by Boston makes me want to set my hair on fire. And then, when you really want to make people scream, you bring out "Billy, don't be a hero!". Worst. Song. EVAR!!!
The Bird: I actually liked Quick Joey Small - I think IC Stars may have been referring to this.
