actually anything played on mainstream classic rock stations. not that i don't like the bands but i'm certain the rolling stones have a large enough discography that i don't have to listen to "jumpin jack flash, paint it black and start me up" on a regular rotation.
same for the who, zep, ac/dc and the rest...

mix it up!

My misses wanted that song, so I agreed as long as it was my choice on which version. I played it for her on the bagpipes. To this day she cringes everytime she hears that song. She chose some other classical POS but at least we avoided that crap.

That's why they do it. Their actions give them filler for their site.

1) Hype something until it's old
2) Complain about the over saturation.
3) Profit!

Eliminating step one eliminates step two, and then you have to actually come up with something of substance to fill your site. That requires time, work, and effort. Screw that. Much easier to hype and complain. Self-feeding, predictable, and people keep clicking.

Except for Moonlight Feels Right. That was one of the mellowest songs of 1976. And Spiral Starecase was cool way back when.

As for other songs from that year, you can add Shannon (about some dude's dog). I also forgot to add a few other gems from the early 1970s: Playground In My Mind, Billy Don't Be A Hero, and Wildwood Weed.

Ever been to or watched a sporting event? I will bet dollars to donuts that you heard one or all of these songs, possibly multiple times during said event. Hearing these songs over and over again is like having my ears stabbed with a pencil.

2) Crazy Train
3) Enter Sandman
4) Anything at all by AC/DC
5) That "We READY" crap, do not even know the name of the "song".
6) Seven Nation Army is starting to annoy the shiatsnacks out of me.

Just because it is old, does not make it better. I used to like listening to AC/DC when I was younger. Their music just does not age well.

Just had a chat with the future Ms. Spiffed. She agrees about Pachabel's Cannon being badly overdone at weddings and said its not for us. but... we've been talking about having a string quartet anyway, and she plays a mean bass guitar.... so we're considering including Canon.. as long as it is funtwo's version of Canon Rock.. and she plays the bass part after a nice fake-out intro by the quartet. She's all for the exploding heads that's liable to cause.
