Strolpol: The way Twitter lit up, you'd think they'd decided to kill her off.

Brass_Robo: My own experience has been a little bit different. I'm actually fairly attractive when I want to be. If I wanted a girlfriend I could find one with a little effort. The problem is, I'm not particularly interested in getting a girlfriend. Apparently this is pretty common among those majoring in a STEM field. I have so much on my plate already that I just don't have the time to devote to a serious relationship, and sex outside of a serious relationship would just be awkward.

jayhawk88: I was always under the impression that they were very picky about what parts of American culture they chose to embrace.

That is all./brohoof!BROHOOF to a fellow lady brony!Pegasisters?Pegasister just sounds silly to me, we are lady bronies. Why should boys have all the fun?I second this. We don't need to differentiate a fan community by gender.I always thought pegasisters had a cool ring to it. Doesn't seem divisive to me. Ah well, have some hunky human Big Mac.[24.media.tumblr.com image 500x341]
spamdog: omeganuepsilon: some will attempt to dish out as good as they get. That's because some of them feel very haughty now that they're part of a big pack of like-minded people. It's something they've never experienced before. Also because they're doing it on the internet, nobody can give them a fat lip over it. That, and they can be VERY insecure, so they respond to every slight, whether real or perceived. If you were to take one look at them in real life you would immediately understand why they act like they do. The stereotype of them being losers is true, unfortunately. You just have to stay away from it. I know it's hard to fathom but you should feel sorry for them, not be angry with them.
omeganuepsilon: spamdog: Remember when anime wasn't mainstream, and anyone who was into it was a freak? It's kinda like that.Except it's not. It's still adults buying into and addicted to something that's animated and packaged for kids.I'd say the same thing for adults who dig much of anything that's on modern US stations in kiddy-watching hours though. Sure, even spongebob could provide a laugh, but it's still pre-packaged puerile and annoying garbage for adhd kids with low standards. Adults who drool over such things are the lowest common denominator.Fist of the Northstar or Akira or Vampire Hunter D(etc) it is not.

I didn't see that anywhere in the PhD-run study I linked.
