First thought: Guy deserves it.
Second thought: Oh wait, I thought you said Rob, not John.
Third thought: Who the fark is John Schneider?

I didn't know you could sink any lower than blowing bums in dumpsters and licking antifreeze out of gutters.

/I heard rumors

Well, he doesn't have the career arc of a Tom Wopat, but he's still getting work.

When the peaks of your career are Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville, you take what you can get (to be fair I did like him as Johnathan Kent (and he had the good sense to get out before that show went completely off the rails)

Could be worse. My first thought was "Fred Schneider", and the first thing that came to mind was "Gay white guy becomes a preacher at a black church...hilarity insues"

You forgot about his award winning turn on The Secret Life of the American Teen.

He's a working actor whose name you know and has been in multiple series you've watched. What have YOU done that any of us would recognize?

But hey, look at how cool you are on the internet for making your snarky comment about his career.

Well, Wopat did just finish a Tarantino movie.

Then again, both of them could probably kick back forever spending those Dukes of Hazzard syndication and DVD checks.

I have a John Schneider C/W record album from years ago. Real nice voice; no clue why he didn't hit it big as any of the others in the genre. Heard him years later in a well researched radio interview. When asked about his C/W recording career John laughed and answered "Yeah. Thank Heavens I got out of that before I made any money".

Prior to this article the last time I head about John Schneider was when he was the judge of a Daisy Duke look-alike contest at a car dealer here in Action Park country. This here is what happens to your career when you have morals and scruples.

I was down in Walt Disney World for my birthday the other year (for Epcot Food & Wine Fest, which is awesome). We went for dinner one night at a nice steak/sushi place and my sister came running out of an elevator screaming "It's Bo Duke !" - and there the guy was. Turns out he is the head of a great charity, Children's Miracle Network, and was down there for their annual weekend at WDW. He's been helping a whole bunch of kids for a very long time. I'm not gay, but the guy looked damn good for his age. He really seemed like a nice, down to Earth, very gracious guy. He might be the Anti-Lohan.

He'll always be Eddie Macon to me.

He is also making movies on his own dime. I have a autographed copy of this movie which is not as bad as you may think it is.

I think John still has a place in Nashville.

Actually, he's been busy being "that guy" in a number of TV series (Nip/Tuck, Desperate Housewives, etc)

Not that anyone cares, but why would you drop that disclaimer in there? It's OK to say a guy looks good. No one is going to assume you're one step away from sucking his dick.

He's fallen a long way since Greatest American Hero. Poor guy.

Because there is a difference between a sexual and non-sexual appreciation of physical appearance. The disclaimer wasn't a Seinfeldian NTTAWWT disclaimer, but simply a statement that as someone who doesn't look at men in a sexual way, he stood out as being as strikingly good looking for his age.

For some reason I translated that whole explanation as, "Who's on first? And the pitch... Pop fly! [whistling "Take me out to the ball game..."] Think baseball, think baseball, think baseball!"

The Haves And The Have Nots follows the dynamics of the affluent Cryer family and the impoverished family of Hanna, their housekeeper, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both families. Innovative-repped Schneider will play Jim Cryer, the Cryer family patriarch.

I think we're all going to learn something about ourselves. Thank-you, Tyler Perry, your artistry is an American natural resource.

Isn't Tyler Perry like one of the most successful people in Hollywood right now? How is being involved in one of his projects a step back?

I imagine a Tyler Perry show is a pretty good gig. Not glamorous of course, but a decent paycheck.

That was my thought too. "Oh, this poor guy is going to star in a sitcom made by a guy who has dump trucks of money delivered to his house every day? Someone catch me, I'm about to faint."

I've never seen a Tyler Perry film, and probably never will, but I imagine being involved in one of his projects means a pretty decent pay day.

Me too! My friends and I would kiss the screen and then dissolve into giggles when Boss Hogg or Uncle Jesse came on. I had posters, the whole deal. He does look good tho, typically blond men with delicate features age horribly and end up looking like elderly elves.

Exit to Eden. He was credited. My bad.

With what demonic entity did Tyler Perry make congress with? Because there's no other explanation for his success.

His skin pigmentation levels seem a bit low for a Tyler Perry production. Maybe they'll spray tan him first so he's less caucasian.

Work is work, whether it's an uplifting Christian film or a cheesy syphilis channel monster movie (all available on Netflix). He's still making more money and pulling better poon than I ever will.
