Stuff like this is another reason why Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors. He does a lot of cool stuff
like this for people under the radar - the only reason we ever hear about it is because the recipients of
his generosity themselves go public about it.

Does he have his asshat moments? Sure. He's only human after all, not the goddamned Batman. But he
is also the first to admit when he was an asshat. Remember when he went apeshiat on the lighting tech or
whatever the guy was on the set of the Terminator movie? Right after it happened he went on one of the
major radio stations and was the first to admit that he'd been a tool and deserved all of the criticism and
mocking that he was getting.

All that's left now is for him to add "vampire" to his list of acting roles and my little fangirl self can retire to
her bunk a happy camper.

I can just imagine the next time this kid goes to the playground - "Guess who gave me this backpack? You won't believe who!".

Christian Bale is one cool dude. Hope the kid gets well soon.

daveb0rg: I think he's cool and all for sending that but it looks like he dropped 30 bucks at walmart.

He's getting the kid things that the kid will enjoy, not collectors items his family will keep in the box and sell after he dies.

That's his little brother, who dresses up like Robin and plays with him. Somehow I think it's okay.

Personally, I think if you're lucky enough to have an awesome career where you make big bucks, you SHOULD do stuff like this.

Mercutio74: whizbangthedirtfarmer: I didn't think it was a big deal, nor was it "bad." He's a pretty intense actor, and all reports were that it was a rough day of shooting, with one fark up after another. It's a wonder he didn't yell at people earlier.

I say fark that. No matter how bad a day is in the film industry, it's still a day in the film industry. If you have to tear a 5 min long bloody strip off of someone who's trying to also do their job on set, you're problem isn't that poor baby has to act all day under "trying" circumstances.

If you've never had a bad day and lost it on a coworker that is great. Many people have and are embarrassed about it later. It shouldn't stop him from being able to do good things later on.

Who cares how much he spent. The guy did a really nice thing. That he didn't have to. You've gotta give him points for that.

still, let the kid discover and open his own stuff, his brother just kept going to the next thing before he could even really look at it.

You really don't know how siblings work do you?
