Evil Mackerel: Queensowntalia: Interesting story. This thread has been useful for highlighting some more people I need to put on ignore, too. Either they really believe the nonsense they spew and have the IQ of moldy horsepoop or they're excellent trolls and bad human beings.

Nothing like a Fark thread to make me hate humanity once again.

Yes, because people online act the exactly the same way in life.

It's true. For instance, all I do all day is walk around showing people captioned pictures of cats.

Dragging your family 150 miles into the Siberian outback to live cut off from society, in near-fathom conditions with no salt and not much more than birch bark and potatoes for decades is not normal... but on religion, it is.

Religion: Not even once.

Just Another OC Homeless Guy: /Degree in Political Science (Comparative Political/Economic Systems).

And you're an accountant by trade! And you know enough about science and physics to know when it's not! (which basically amounts to anything you can't understand, but hey -- lets not mince degrees here).

Truly you are a modern Renaissance man.

Hey libertarians: You want to live in a completely free society?

That's where you should go. In Siberia no one will ever crush your freedoms or suppress your rights..... nor even notice you are there.

Wow, after having finished this article, I will say, go ahead and be a separatist nutter all you want ("separatist" rather than "libertarian" because most of these idiots tend to do things that infringe on the rights of others like burning their garbage and doing their laundry in public waterways), but to raise children in the manner described in the article is clearly abusive and should not be tolerated.

Probably all the pine nut shells and potato peels littering the floor. The clotted blood makes mighty fine insulation and floor polish.

preposterous.  No credit cards?  No Costco membership?  NO KEURIG? Does Cigna even deliver their 90 days of medications or do they have to WALK to the post office?

Someone ought to teach that old fart how to punch in ON TIME.  Then we'll be talking about TRUE privation.

OTOH, at 6500 feet they must have great reception.

david_gaithersburg: Similarities:
Both believe that success is to be punished.
Both believe that rights and freedoms should be bestowed to the people by the government.
Both believe in religious intolerance and bigotry.
Both believe in government control of the press.
Both believe in one party political systems.

A stunning grasp of post-Industrial Revolution liberalism on display here.

Bro, do you even left?

Come on, you aren't even trying hard anymore.

.
You should read the story again. They did not want to flee into the the wilderness, they did so to escape being murdered by so-called-progressives. So sad, we can never allow this history to repeat.
