NFA: Yet again proving police are above the law.

I hardly call three detectives doing mandatory police dog training with three ounces of coke while their daughter takes notes with a stopwatch "above the law". Drug sniffing isn't a bicycle. You don't train the dogs once and let it slide. You have to constantly reinforce like these cops were doing with the two ounces of coke. It's not like they let the daughter wander off with the ounce of coke they brought. They even returned the half ounce of coke to vault when they were done.

He always cracks the case.

He ought to find it fast. He had plenty of practice sniffing the stuff in Hollywood, I'm sure.

They should've let the kids sniff the cocaine so they'd know what the dog was smelling.

Emma's mother, Michelle Bartelt, said the experiment was conducted at police facilities and under constant supervision. She said her daughter did not touch the cocaine, and she never had any concerns about the experiment.

No cocaine was brought on campus. Wait...You mean the Fark headline was misleading?

Brought a crotch-sniffing dog to school for my science project.

2013-01-29 10:59:14 PM
So what did she actually do for the "science" project except write some b.s. and show up? The government trained the dogs how to find drugs. There were handlers for the dogs. Her dad got the drugs........I say 'F' try to actually show up for your project next time. Make a potato battery or a baking soda volcano for christ sake at least it's something other than"Dad can you do my project for me, I don't like manual labor"

Misleading how? It didn't mention bringing it to school or that he was a cop.

Headline stands.

Not for anything but polymerizing milk is a cooler trick than a drug sniffing dog.

"So what did Emma learn from the experiment, which showed that Franky, while retired, can still sniff out an ounce of cocaine in a mean time of 43 seconds?

The dog's pension records were part of the experiment?

Seriously, I'd give the kid an F for drawing a conclusion that's totally unsupported by the data.  She didn't state a hypothesis, either.  THAT'S NOT HOW SCIENTIFIC METHOD WORKS!

First place for this?  It's tantamount to glorifying cocaine!

Did you miss the day they taught reading comprehension? The headline implies that cocaine was brought to the science fair when all the student did was observe a controlled training session at a police facility.

I hope you brought enough for everybody in the teacher's lounge.

Is one pound enough?

Good girl! You get an A+ and a gold star! I'll just get that gold star now before I forget.

nmemkha: Fark bake sales.  Imagine the fund raising potential ...

Once again this year, the school wishes to thank Mrs. Prunella Fishface for putting the school bake sale over the top of its fundraising goal of $35,000 with her delicious scones and mint rock cakes. Sorry, I'm told that is "meth" rocks.

That joke is funnier if you're British.

A British or Irish fundraiser isn't complete without rock cakes and somebody making the traditional rock cake joke. The British are very big on traditional pastries and jokes, and they hand them down for generations.

Here's a recipe:  rock cakes
