A team of surgeons at Johns Hopkins Hospital has performed the hospital's first successful bilateral arm transplant -- giving two new arms to Brendan Marrocco, an Iraq war veteran.

Science is so awesome.

I would imagine they aren't necessarily straight-out-of-the-factory new. I mean there must have been some previous owners to those arms at one point in their service life.

Not really funny subtard. The poor guy lost both his arms and legs in the war. Horrible. And someone else had to die to give him the gift of his arms. And you take all this to a sexual level. Not really cool, not really funny, but good story. i hope it works out for him.

You know what? I'm good with that. If tech stays frozen at 2013 levels and war goes away I say it's a fair trade.

Crazy story: I know a guy who was on a hand transplant team. They gave a soldier two new hands. At one of his many follow ups, he was complaining about how much he hated his new hands. That was not new - it's hard to learn to use them and they didn't feel right to him. What was new was he confessed he never wanted new hands. He felt pressured by his wife who was tired of having to do everything for him.

How crazy is that? "No thanks, I'd rather have no hands than do some physical therapy."

Ya know, that's the most intelligent question I've seen on the internet all day. Kudos.

Count me among the people who hate war, wish this guy well, and know that war is going to be part of human behavior until there are no humans.
