Stimied in a Rut: It was a Jeremy Schaap interview with Sepp Blatter. I'll look it up when I get home.

Oh that's pretty interesting, I never thought of it like that.

One thing from that interview that really stuck with me was Jeremy asking Sepp what would happen if some fascist elements started some shiat during the Cup. Sepp looked at him and said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "If they start, we will pack up the World Cup and go home."

I didn't know Mr. Blatter that well at the time, but that moment stuck out as one where I said "This dude's full of shiat, isn't he?"

Go GOONERS!

So all signs point to Liverpool signing Coutinho today. Good for us, now we can give Stevie some rest. Still, I wish we would go ahead and get Butland in this window as well. Reina looks to be gone, and Jonesy just isn't up there in skill to be a full time #1.

I have to say though, we've got a nice little squad rotation coming along.

My bad, SD. I had to step away from the computer for a bit and when I came back this thread was the first I saw, and the other admin in the queue had redlit yours--I saw it after I greened this one. Remind me to buy you a beer if I'm ever out your way.

And again I say: For the life of me, I can't understand why managers in any league complain about a congested fixture list when you have depth in the squad and you don't use it. It smacks of failure on their end to properly scout players at a certain price range in order to fill out their squad.

Oh, I'll remind you to buy me a beer..but no worries. I probably would have been torn to shreds regarding grammar anyways. There ARE a slew of games? There IS a slew of games? Whatever...

Eh, most people think the mods/admins are power-mad tinpot dictators. It ain't true, we try and get things right and never really get it the way everybody wants it since everybody wants things a different way. But it doesn't cost me a thing to say, "my bad" and move on.  I like you guys and want to get it right the first time as often as possible.

Cajnik: Why were there so many upsets last weekend in the FA Cup? Because the self-proclaimed best league in the world is not quite the premier league it's cracked up to be

I think the lower leagues are also getting better, and the Premier League sides knew they had to play mid week.

Oh, there's a transfer window going on right now? I would have thought that Arsenal would have added to their squad, as I've been led to believe they intended to do. Color me shocked.

No, no. "Like a new signing" is what Wenger says about getting a player back from a long-term injury, like Diaby or Wilshere. The correct statement for the transfer window is "oh yes, we are always looking and will add to the squad if we find players of suitable quality" for several weeks before settling for nobody.

Arteta's managed to be competent at least. santos has been disappointing to say the least. What happened to the famed Arsenal scouting?

Seems weird that Americans are supposed to be rednecks, but would never have shiat like that happen in the States. (Since Altidore is american)

Also, where was this Villa squad in the first half? So good the second half and should have scored at least 3, though only have scored one. I have a draw in that one.

I've not fully given up on him yet.

He can't dribble for shiat though. It's really bad.

They partly covered this in the lead-up to the 2006 World Cup, saying the Civil Rights Movement, which shunned nearly all of the racist behavior in America, doesn't have an equal across Europe, which is why some of these idiots still act that way in public.

It was a Jeremy Schaap interview with Sepp Blatter. I'll look it up when I get home.

I think it's more about what he can become in 3 years rather than what he is is already. It remains to be seen if he can become Ronaldo-esque, but I believe that is what they are going for.

Oh that's pretty interesting, I never thought of it like that.

Also Wigan have come from 2 down to equalize. I currently only have 1 correct prediction.
