This might go over a lot of people's heads, but whatever. The Jets may be incomplete, and Rex Ryan's bluster may have overthrown reality, so to speak, but I think that type of environment is something Jamarcus could really grip and sip.

You misspelled "to ruin next season".

The article + this assessment = pure comedy gold in the making.

I would be just as effective and would do the job for 75% of what Russell will get paid.

Will MetLife Stadium be adding a drank tank?

Holy Lord, there's going to be a battle between Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, and JaMarcus Russell.

This better end up as a skills competition on NFLN.

They could even have a real QB show up just for comparison's sake.

2013-01-29 12:13:13 PM
Holy shiat Jets, I knew things were bad, but Jesus Christ

OH GOD PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN FOR COMEDY'S SAKE

True, but the media wouldn't spend a week making fun of the Jets hiring you to become their new leader.

/Because you'd be a more legit leader in the NFL.

2013-01-29 12:15:37 PM
Also, this was predicted on Fark a week or two ago.

Ok, this is getting to the point I want to give zombie Hunter S Thompson some blotter acid and ask him to follow and report on the Jets.

I think Ryan Leaf was the biggest bust ever, not Jamarcus.

Leaf didn't cost as much and wasn't the #1 overall pick, but Jamarcus was a better player whose career didn't collapse as magnificently as Leaf's. It's a tough call.

As a Pats fan the AFC Championship was still making me feel a little down.

But on seeing this, I felt a little more smile coming through.

Thank you Jets.

Top All-Time QBs:

1)
Aaron Brooks
2) Bert Farve
3) Mark Sanchez
4) "The Air Up There" from And 1
5) Barky from Jerry Rice & Nitus' Dog Football for Nintendo Wii
6) JaMarcus Russell ("Purple Drank" from And 1)

So why would the Jets get Purple Drank when they already have Mark Sanchez?

It's like dividing by zero.

If this happens, the Cleveland Browns are going to have stiff competition for the title of "Cleveland Browniest franchise".

As a Pats fan, I totally support this.

The second part of that makes up for the first part.

Say, has there been a Scott Zolak sighting lately?

If by the first part you mean being a Pats fan? My only defense is that I grew up watching the Patsies fail year after year and I am part of the small contingent of fans that doesn't take winning for granted.

On another note, why do the Jets try so hard to fail? It almost seems intentional these days.

Maybe they are trying to "Major League" their way out of Metlife Giants Stadium.

That's what I am hoping. If they can void Aaron Boone for playing pick up, you got to hope they have provisions for shiat like this.

Could they not get Vince Young to return their calls?

Yeah, at best they'd have the money to make a trade involving a big contract during the season. At worst, they can save that money towards the 2014 FA market.

What do you expect from a team that actually pursued Tebow?

This failure would top that if it actually happened, though.

/Just ask Alex Smith if he wants to hang out or something. Start there

Roger that.  I really don't bear any particular ill-will towards the Pats;  the Ain'ts were the NFL's laughingstock for a long time, too.

On the Side: On another note, why do the Jets try so hard to fail? It almost seems intentional these days.

Andy Reid is now in the AFC.  Rexie has competition when it comes to losing the big one.

I hear Vince Young wants to try to make a comeback. Why not consider him, too? Why stop at Mark "Buttfumble" Sanchez, The Holy Tebus, and Jamarcus "Down to 308 pounds" Russell? Why wouldn't the Jets also want a suicidal quarterback? It'll make great TV!
