No kidding.

OTOH, I'd prefer the media wait a couple days to get their facts straight.

There better be a [Followup] submission.

He probably meant to shoot someone else later on that day, but he went off prematurely.

Erectile dysfunction doctor, it's a hard life.

For a rage-on lasting more than four hours, consult a physician.

I betcha it was a patient that wasn't happy with the results of prostate surgery.

Things aren't looking up for the shooter anymore...

He didn't have a firm grip on the situation apparently...

He's going to have a lot of downtime in his future...

The doctor was keeping him impotent so the good doctor could keep slipping it to the wife.

Upon further review, that scenario is doubtful.

Police arrested Stanwood Fred Elkus, 75, of Lake Elsinore, on Monday on suspicion of shooting Dr. Ronald Gilbert, 52, of Huntington Beach, multiple times in the torso.

What a dick move.

Also, good headline subby!

And more info.

The Suspect

Newport Beach police were on scene throughout the night at Elkus' residence in the 15600 block of Laguna Avenue in Lake Elsinore, according to Deputy Albert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

James Lord, 54, a neighbor from across the street, said he knew the suspect well. Elkus lived alone and had been a resident of the area nearly 20 years, Lord said.

"He was a nice guy who never bothered anyone," he said.

"He had some kind of prostrate problem, but I don't where his doctor was located," Lord added.

They always never bother anyone.

Wouldn't his patients be the soft type anyways? It'd only be the former patients and non-patients...

Makes me wonder if he had prostate problem/surgery that left him unable to get a boner.

/don't be f*cking up a man's boner......

Yup. As I predicted. A botched prostate surgery left the guy impotent or wearing an adult diaper.

No, the doc has a prostrate problem.

The shooter has a prostate problem.

It'll never stand up in a court of law.

About 20 years ago in the San Diego area, (Chula Vista, I think), a urologist was shot in the groin by an angry Mexican older male who had his prostate removed. From what I deduced from the newspaper article, the patient evidently either did not understand what the doctor told him regarding the probability of becoming impotent following the surgery due to the nerves controling the erection process generally being severed during the removal process and that would result in not being able to ever have a normal erection...or he was not paying attention or his command of the English language was such that he missed some of what he was told. In any case, he became very angry at the doctor and blamed him for his condition so he took a gun to the doctor's office and made sure that the doctor would suffer as he was and not be able to ever have an erection. Perhaps this case is similar to the one in Chula Vista.

no doubt a hard one to swallow for his family.

This would be the second time I have heard of this kind of shooting. The last doctor survived because the patient only wanted to take away the docs boner as well.
