Divine favor is not "a guy steals your van but he smashes the crap out of it so LOL robber"

Divine favor is "a guy tries to steal your van but is consumed by a plague of locusts before he harms it"
or
"a guy tries to steal your van but has a heart attack before moving it out of park"
or
"a guy tries to steal your van but has a change of heart and returns it"

A van that was purchased tax free and subsidized by the public. Not really stealing in my opinion.

THIS + 10. I was in a near-fatal car crash about 7 years ago. A 2 month coma, 19 surgeries, then 11 months of physical and occupational therapy. This ass-hat at work kept telling me how grateful I should be to his god because I was spared. WTF kind of logic is that?

Who needs doctors, right? Just as long as you clutch your Bible, you'll be fine.
But seriously, that's a horrible story, man. Glad you survived.

Maybe God didn't want these people using a van to preach and sent this man to stop them spreading problems to the world, therefore it quite clear the man was an agent of God doing holy work.

True story: My sil living in Sault St. Marie, MI had this happen to her house. Two kids took the van from the church next door slammed into her house hard enough to damage the foundation. They were renting and got kicked out because the house was deemed unlivable. That was some messed up luck.

It could have been paid for by donations/tithes. Either way, he took what didn't belong to him. That's stealing any way you look at it.
