Americans for a Strong Defense has invested at least $271,000 in the anti-Hagel ad buy.

I'll wager $20 that not a single one of those Americans for a Strong Defense assholes has ever spent a second risking their life for their country. Yet they want to tear a guy who has, down because he believes America should look out for itself a bit more often over the interests of other countries. He's not even close to an isolationist or anti-Israeli. He just dislikes the power they wield in AMERICAN foreign policy.

In summation, oh Rabid defenders of what they think is in the best interest of America: Eat sh*t and die.

I'm so glad we have that Citizens United thing protecting our free speech. It's really spiffy. Not even a single name on their website. You guys are really brave. I salute you.

Well, it's impossible to tell - there's literally no information about who they are or where they came from.

Well, I think we need to break this out for them:

i45.tinypic.com

I think it's the Soviets sabotaging our government.

On Sunday, the New York Times further reported that GOP super donor Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., has been directly reaching out to Republican senators "to urge them to hold the line" against Hagel's confirmation.

This guy won't go away. Doesn't he already have enough money?

Farking Surrenderbama O'Taxbongo... This dude needs to be more bipartisan and shiat would get done in Washington. Instead he throws his liberal, out of touch ideas in our face constantly. We need another accountability moment like 2010 as soon as possible

Well, given this guy's track record, let me be the first to say,

"Congratulations, Secretary Hagel"

True. However, like the Phoenix, Sheldon's company/stock almost collapsed in 2008. I think it went below a dollar. Then, he made it all back, and then some, by holding on.

He's a tenacious motherf*cker and I wouldn't be so quick to discount him, even with his current run of bad luck.

I can't see any actual objection to this guy other than he thinks that the job is not Secretary of Israeli Defense.

And he might not fight tooth and nail against cuts to the defense budget. I think that has them more worried than the Israel angle.

I so enjoyed the Kerry process where a bunch of Republicans who had never been near the military were suddenly experts about all things combat.

fusillade762: I think that has them more worried than the Israel angle.

When will these maroons start worrying about the USA angle instead of every other nation getting itself in trouble?

They're worried more about their own pocketbooks and the loss of campaign donations from defense contractors.

True. After about 15 minutes of searching, this is all I came up with, and none of it came from that site:

"Senator Hagel isn't the right choice for the Pentagon. We can do better. His views on our national defense and key foreign policy issues are deeply troubling, and they send the wrong signal to America's allies and adversaries," said Brian Hook, a former Mitt Romney foreign policy adviser and a former assistant secretary of state under George W. Bush.

Comprising the board of the new group are Hook; Mauricio Claver-Carone, executive director of Cuba Democracy Advocates; and former Mitt Romney campaign hand Danny Diaz of FP1 Strategies, which is a 501(c)(4) and therefore won't have to disclose its donors.
