I will never forget the impact the "Around the World" video had on me. It changed my understanding of music and performance art.

I don't listen to much house today, but I still play "Around the World" in my classrooms.

I hope they're at Bonnaroo this year.

They're on my Band bucket list.

It was Radiohead, Daft Punk, Incubus and a Jason Newstead Metallica.

I saw Radiohead last year and Metallica isn't happening so that leaves DP and Incubus.

If you get a chance to see Massive Attack, go.

I liked Tron.

So it will be another album of filtered and looped samples, and not done anywhere near as well as Carl Craig's Paperclip People, whom they ripped off their sound from.

Meanwhile Carl's doing jazz, classical, and experimental.

Goddamnit.

Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo

You have to take people seriously when they have names like this.

Discovery is possibly my most favorite album ever. But after Human After All, i'm going to have to hear it before i buy it.

Come on, Daft. Try to not suck, you used to do it pretty easily.

So is that when tron 3 will be released?

2013-01-28 09:47:55 PM

Girion47: Jason Newstead Metallica.

I saw them at one of the shows Hetfield couldn't play after he injured his back, and half the songs they played Newstead stepped up and sang the vocals. He didn't have the best voice, but he made up for that with passion and energy.

After I got over the initial disappointment it was actually a pretty good show, and I got to see a free make-up show later.

Do this if you get the chance. I saw them in Dallas a little over a year ago and they burned the place to the ground. It was an awesome show.

Also if you get a chance check out Leftfield, granted it's not the original lineup, but they will rumble the molars out of your teeth. Not to mention their music is just as good as Massive Attack's.

I was listening to LCD Soundsystem when I read this headline. It's great to have a new Daft Punk album this year! Maybe I should learn to dance!

Nothing tops Homework. The songs are sensational, the bass lines make your balls swing, and the sounds are totally experimental and at the same borderline minimal. Even the song I like least -- Around the World -- is basically one of the most popular electronic songs ever created. I think it's both groundbreaking and the very definition of progressive, considering all the sh*t that was being released in the electronic music genre at that time (I'm looking at you, Paul van Dyk).

That being said, Human After All sucked donkey balls.

They're likely to play New York, though.

I've never been the biggest fan of any variation of techno, but I really liked the Tron Legacy soundtrack, it just fit everything in the movie perfectly.

I never saw that movie, so I thought that album was weak, maybe not the best for regular music listening. The remixed soundtrack (with other electronic artists remixing their tracks) was much better, imo.

If you think of it as a 2-hour Daft Punk music video, it's great. Don't think about it too hard (shiny, flashy, plotholey), and watch it on the biggest TV with the best surround sound you can find.

/So happy I saw it in 3D. I can't see 3D, but the IMAX sound system was shaking the seats.

When I moved to Vegas in May, I was still getting used to things, and didn't know about Vegoose in July.

Daft Punk played with Rage Against the Machine.

I still has a sad I missed it.

As much as I don't like a lot of their work, they knocked it out of the park with the Tron:Legacy soundtrack, That is an amazing piece of work. As for everything else they've done, they have some ear worm songs, but nothing I really enjoy, although with electronic music I skew more ambient, downtempo, and breakbeat.

I was thinking that the headline was referring to a new Tron movie coming out this year. Anyways, I could dig another weird Anime tied in with this album.

Metal hasn't been good since Master of Puppets.
