(Deadspin)   I don't know which is more depressing: that "celebrity diving" is an upcoming TV series or that Louie Anderson almost drowned filming it because he couldn't get out of the pool   (deadspin.com) divider line 55

Is it that much of a loss if he did drown?

First part is depressing.  Second part is hilarious.

It's his fault for having a joke about looking like a beached whale at the beach whose punchline is "He's dying!  Push him back in the water!"

Celebrity... Louie Anderson...

WAT

2013-01-28 05:52:11 PM
The fact that Louie Anderson didn't Candy himself a long time ago is pretty remarkable.

// And no, I don't mean coat yourself in molten sugar, Louie.

If you look at the URL and the comments, it appears that the headline first read "Louie Armstrong."

What there was no Sea World near where they could use the crane and harness? I know here the Baltimore FD will use the stuff from the aquarium to get the obese people out of their homes.

Lets look at this

American versions of British shows are always shiattier than the original

Splash (the original British show) is utter garbage. So this is going to be shiattier garbage.

So, Louie Anderson is still alive. Interesting

2013-01-28 06:21:17 PM
Wait. Didn't they already do this? Don't tell me that someone decided to have a COMPETING celebrity-diving show. Are we just out of ideas or something? Are we taking show concepts from that guy Morpheus made spout out prompts uncontrollably?

I KNEW Ndamukong Suh was a sadistic bastard.

The depressing part is the word "almost".

celebrity diving??? Meh! Now try going with celebrity driving staring Lindsay Lohan and you might have a winner. That is, if she shows up for filming.

Sorry to swim upstream here - but I had the opportunity to see him in Vegas years back - and he was so casually/truly funny,... in a very non-chalant way, quite conversational about it all. The crowd was about peeing itself after just 20 minutes - he's a joke to most of the younger farkers, but the man could deliver on stage and deserves respect.

BTW - when you reference Mr. John Candy, show some farking respect you adolescent assholes.

When you're bread and butter is "OMG I'm completely out of shape and overweight" this is what we call a comeback.

It's a pretty sad state of affaris when you become so media saturated that you think some dude drowning is a desperate stab at getting on America's Biggest Celebrity Fat Camp participant or a Weight Watchers/Subway gig.

Only Louie Anderson could get that tired by what is essentially just falling into the pool.

That sound you hear is the show's insurance company yanking the coverage, btw.

I love that movie, also. The family scenes in Murphy's 'Nutty Professor' were pretty hilarious. But 'Coming to America' had several funny bits. Also used to enjoy the Louie Anderson cartoon show 'Life With Louie'.
