dellsworth1007: Bork Botches Again or Kayfabe as Usual, You Decide

TFA refers to him as Mr. McMahon. It's kayfabe, leading to the inevitable HHH/Bork match

IT DOESN'T MATTER, if you want the WWE title on TV.

Unless plans change, WWE Champion The Rock will not be at next Monday's RAW from Atlanta, Georgia. This will be one of the few RAW shows, if not the only one, that Rock misses between now and WrestleMania 29.

OK, so it was a VERY mediocre show, especially coming off of a major PPV like the Rumble, but the following more than saved it:

- Jericho's face speech (although I prefer Heel Jericho)
- DBD/Kane vs Ziggles/Jericho
- Trish in any shape/form
- Bork w/ the F5 on the ChairGramps of the Board (and Paul E. selling the hell out of it!)
- Punk not playing nice with anyone

I'm sure I've missed something, but these are the things I'm taking away from it. In spite of itself, it was an OK show...

"The check is in the mail" - Paul Heyman to any ECW wrestler from 1999-2000

So much this

as bad as the ecw days were Paul was still a guy who could get it done. He just wasn't jewish enough to run books properly. He still gets a lot of praise and the first "one night stand" got huge ratings.

And he deserves that praise. He was a master of getting the most out of the talent he had available and was willing to take chances on guys. But it's an easy joke to make and damn it, I'm taking it every chance I get.

I was trying to decide if they should be called The New Oddities or Oddities 2.0, then I realized the only option in WWE now would be Team Oddities.

2nd or 3rd in WWE.

Punk is WWE's Macho Man. Which means hopefully after 2015, Punk will kick Cole out of the booth and take over.

Punk is most definitely the 21st century version of Savage.  Best in the world, but always playing second fiddle to the "big star".

You know, my biggest complaint with Rock's current run is that he rarely refers to himself in the 3rd person any more. That little quirk really added a dimension of arrogance to the character, and I miss that. Now he's just Dwayne Johnson playing The Rock.

Shady_Short_Busser: The saddest thing about this match is that they could only dig up a half-dozen or so other Divas. When the division is less than 10 deep, what does it mean to be the champion?

/"10 deep" and "Divas" in the same comment...
//[beavisandbuttheadlaugh.wmv]

The women's division is a joke. They have no idea what to do with the ones who can wrestle, and push the ones that have no idea how to run the ropes, because they're models and that's apparently all they want for "divas".

Sunny couldn't wrestle but she was one hell of a Valet. Put the models as valets, and get some damn wrestling women in there. But nooo ...

RevMercutio: TheManofPA: phedex: Also, this feud, big show is really putting over ADR in a good way.

Show is rather underrated for all the little things he does (face and heel). When in heel mode he does a good job of putting people over. As a face, he entertains by really having fun out there. In both cases, if put in the right kind of match with the right opponent, he puts on some great slobberknockers. They are not 5-stars by any means, but they are just the old fashion enjoyable beatup matches.

It's unpopular to say, but Show is better than Andre ever was.

It was supposed to come out last June. Then Channing Tatum, who got killed off in the beginning of the film, got popular so they had to refilm it with him still alive.

phedex: I'm actually thinking that he will hold the belt until WM and drop it back to punk. Anyone else think that could happen

No.

Rock is merely a transitional champion before we get our nice long Cena reign through at least SummerSlam.

If only that meant Cena turning heel. Hell, I'd take heel Rock at this point.

Side note: dirt sheets are saying Jericho might be back for a little while and likely as a heel. Trying to find the link from where I read it earlier.

I was entertaining friends last night watching the Rumble which is why I wasn't here. Tonight I (unfortunately) have to go to a funeral reception and wake (not my family), so if i am here it will be late. I'll just post this here (from the tail end of the Rumble thread)

"Well Brian, what did you think about the Rumble?"

"Watching it was more painful than being Owen Hart's stunt double."

"You called it last year Brain."

"Indeed I did, when I said that some of John Cena's make-a-wish kids are going to have a longer life than that stupid 'once in a lifetime' theme!"

"And here we are..."

"Yep... I don't drink enough for this job!"
