Well, If all else fails, trump could just declare bankruptcy.
That said, what is the score? Has he been 'bankrupt' more times than married, yet?

It's more like: "Asked for a humming rimjob of a tax break; didn't get it."

// I farking wonder why not...

Philip Francis Queeg: Welfare queen.

This. Why should the Federal Government give away money millions of dollars?

I wouldn't mind if they put better quality shops or restaurants inside. But if the plan included tearing it down building a new highrise on top I think I would be incensed enough to join even Occupy DC in protest.

I'd compare it to tearing down Penn Station to build Madison Square Gardens.

It's a local tax that he asked to be waived.

Only is Madison Square Garden was a fark-ugly black and gold monstrosity like the Trump-branded wart that sits just north of Columbus Circle.

And it's not like DC is want of luxury hotels anyway.

I realize Subby is being facetious but a dark part of me hopes that Obama actually did lean on some people to influence the decision because fark Donald Trump.

Yeah but its Federal property - and plus all of DC is Federal anyways?  I think?

No, not all of the District is Federal. But the Postal Pavilion is still a federal space.

They' renovating the building. It's on the historic register. The problem is the building/land is federally owned -which can't be taxed, so the city which has a ton of untaxable buildings puts a possesary tax on the occupants.
It's not uncommon for developers to work out a tax break on projects such as this.

They better keep the clock tower. That is, by far, the best view of Washington DC.

And keep access to it free (or inexpensive... I forget if there was an admission fee).

Seems like they just got done renovating that thing.

Honestly, I'd rather have it as a hotel than federal office space.  That area really picked up in the 90's and some more active nightlife certainly wouldn't hurt.

#1 Don't be a dick during the election and expect favors when your side loses.
#2 You were fired from Trump Tower......

Sure, DC would lose some tax revenue, but imagine how much CLASS they would get in return.

That picture. Wow. The shelf behind him is crammed with stuff. About half of it seem to be family pictures, for which I would could cut somebody some slack, until you get to 25 or more pictures, at which point, it's pretty odd.

Then there are all of the trophies and awards on display. Mr. Super-Confident Super-Billionaire wants you to see every piece of triumph swag he's ever received.

Then there is the desk. Multiple sloppy piles of paper. The sign of a disorganized mind.

Overall, the net effect is the parlor of a lonely little old lady who keeps piling up kitsch.

And then of course there is the eternal hair or...whatever it is.

Declare bankruptcy again? That guy just can't seem to run anything that doesn't dramatically collapse.

And he's an expert in so many things and is called to lead so often...how does he find the time to do anything else?

"I am a world-class expert in tourism."

"I am a handwriting analyst."

"Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again -- just watch. He can do much better!"

"The TODAY show should call me about who to put on the show - I know more about people who get ratings than anyone."

"People are going crazy with my comments on Diet Coke (soda). Let's face it -- this stuff just doesn't work. It makes you hungry."

"My twitter has become so powerful that I can actually make my enemies tell the truth."

"Romney campaign used me in 6 primary states and won every one- they should have used me in Florida and Ohio & he would be president."

"Wind turbines are not only killing millions of birds, they are killing the finances & environment of many countries & communities."

"Katy Perry is no bargain but I don't like John Mayer -- he dates and tells --be careful Katy (just watch!)."

"I will start reviewing various political reporters etc & websites as to their professionalism & fairness - many people asking for this."

"Polls are starting to look really bad for Obama. Looks like he'll have to start a war or major conflict to win. Don't put it past him!"

"Why is Obama playing basketball today? That is why our country is in trouble!"

"Remember, I said Derek don't sell your Trump World Tower apartment...its been luck for you. The day after he sold it, he broke his foot!"

"In order to get elected, Barack Obama will start a war with Iran."

"An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that Barack Obama's birth certificate is a fraud."

"Essentially, a large portion of American people are asking me to serve as their spokesperson."

"He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!"

Don't you think he looks tired?
