(New Musical Express)   Paul McCartney owns a flock of sheep, and his neighbors make fun of him because he refuses to send them to slaughter so they die of old age. Plus there's the whole Give My Regards to Broad Street mockery   (nme.com) divider line 40

You think the world has had an enough of silly sheep herds
I look around me and I see it isn't so

Those sheep might be tight when you first put it in but at least they have all four legs.

Plus the mockery of just, you know, being Paul McCartney

I don't think Mr. McCartney needs to take the farmers advise on how to run a business.

You don't know much about Beatles history, do you.

He'd be richer than Bill Gates if they had made better business decisions.

Didn't he marry that one legged twunt without a pre-nup?

James McCartney looks like an incredibly disturbing version of Paul McCartney.

Yes (eye roll), I'm sure McCartney regrets being insanely wealthy, despite the possibility of being more insanely wealthy.

His special breed of sheep - in particular the females - are known for having health issues with their jaws and a misshapen, grinding tooth in particular - so they're not known for being the best bred for slaughter. Ewes can't handle the tooth...

I thank you for this link, cause it led me to a Heart cover of Stairway to Heaven, that apparently made Plant tear up in approval.

yeah he should have put all his money in Apple stock instead of getting married to the 1-leg girl, and sold at the top last year. What an idiot.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Paul McCartney is a very rich man. If he never worked again, he still has more money than he can spend before he dies. And he has all that money while pretty much getting to choose what he wants to do and how he wants to do it. So, why would he give up getting to live the way he wants and choose the things he wants for even more money that he will never be able to spend before he dies? How would that improve his life?

Yeah, it's a good cover. I think the tears, though, may have come from who the drummer is.

What's wrong with that? I'd like to know.

Dammit. I was going to make a Bill Campbell joke, but you trumped mine with the song lyric. Awesome job, man.

LENNON: "Sean and I were away for a weekend and Yoko came over to sell this cow and I was joking about it. We hadn't seen her for days; she spent all her time on it. But then I read the paper that said she sold it for a quarter of a million dollars. Only Yoko could sell a cow for that much." (laughter)

PLAYBOY: "For an artist, your business sense seems remarkable."

ONO: "I was doing it just as a chess game. I love chess. I do everything like it's a chess game. Not on a Monopoly level... that's a bit more realistic. Chess is more conceptual."

No he got the short end of the gene stick. James McCartney looks like the wrong parts of both his parents. I'm the same age as he is, I look to be about 45 and I still look twenty years younger than he does.

Stella on the other hand hit the jackpot, genetically speaking.

The question was about business decisions, not how much money he has.
See Northern Songs and Apple (the original)
Se him lose control of his songs and the royalties they generate.
Yeah as he got older he wised up and was able to pull it back together, but he had to make some big mistakes along the way.

Yep. I rather like that one as well. Dare I say the movie, while admittedly silly, is a fun watch. I can't think of anything bad to say about the guy, really. Seems like a genuinely good bloke.

The Northern Songs debacle was a lose-lose situation for him. He tried to do the right thing and bring Yoko in on the deal so he wouldn't be seen as stealing all their song rights, but she dragged her feet trying to lowball, which allowed MJ to screw them both over by swooping in and paying about triple the original amount asked. If anything, it was Yoko who screwed it all up.
