I'm not seeing the mind changing part of that headline

Fish On! (Link)

2013-01-27 09:12:21 AM
Dean Ween is far and away one of the best guitar players that no one knows. I follow Ween like some people follow the dead, just can't get enough of their live playing.

2013-01-27 09:14:34 AM
Ok, this is awesome.

2013-01-27 09:18:52 AM
This sounds familiar

2013-01-27 09:19:38 AM
The premise of this show is pretty much to watch people with cooler and more interesting friends than you enjoying their recreation time.

Don't I know it.

2013-01-27 09:32:50 AM
Will they throw back the fish ala Bill Dance and Jerry Reed?

And hunting with The Plasmatics

is this what deaner was talking about?

I know Matt and Trey but who are the other two? Should I care?

"The Fishin' Musician". Great sketch.

I got rid of cable last year. If I want to watch it will probably be online or Netflix in a year

I'd watch it if I could be sure to hear this song.

The phrase "Lolwut" looks at the headline and realizes today was the reason it was put on this earth.

And apparently animated by Mike Judge...

We'll let you know when you are able to go see rated R movies without adult supervision...in 3 years.

Loved that show. If this is anything like it, it's got a chance at least.

That Tom Waits episode was priceless. I named my guinea pig Cheesefish.

I, for one, shall watch the shiat out of this show.

Ween was awesome in "It's Pat"!

I presume this is an example of the high-quality content that cable execs insist that cord-cutters are missing out on?

2013-01-27 11:16:45 AM
My brother told me he once read an interview with Dean Ween where he said all he wants to do is go deep sea fishing and take tourists out.  I assumed, because it was Dean Ween, that he was just being silly and making it up for the interview.  Apparently, though he played it off legit.

I will watch to see if they can catch a 100lb sturgeon on a 20lb test.

You need taco-flavored Doritos to do that.

Reality TV will always be garbage, no matter who is in it.
Keep farking right off, 'murrcan television.

2013-01-27 12:55:14 PM
I would see that as justification for getting rid of cable.

2013-01-27 12:57:05 PM
Watching Charlie Moore, kick, etc.

I'm starting to wonder if Matt & Trey even remember that they still have a show on Comedy Central anymore. Seems that new South Park episodes come very few and far between these days, with very little heads-up when there is one. Must be nice to have a job where you get paid millions and only show up if you feel like it every year or so, crank out two episodes in the span of 48 hours, then go back to playing golf for another 11 months.

johnnyboog: Ween was awesome in "It's Pat"!

I'm actually friends with Mickey on Facebook. I don't know him IRL, but I saw that he had a normal page rather than a "fan" page, and he accepted my request. He recently mentioned that he still makes about $40 a year in royalties off that movie.

Meanwhile, I'd say 90% of his posts are either about fishing or Philadelphia sports. All in all, just a normal dude, but it's been cool to follow his post-Ween success w/the fishing expeditions and now the new TV show.

They've been doing 14 a year in two spurts of 7 since 2004.

I saw Les on a fishing show on the old Outdoors network years ago. It was weird, but the dude is really into the outdoors.

Seeing how they can belt out an episode from scriptwriting to broadcast within the span of 48 hours, that's like about two weeks of actual "work" out of the whole year.

It'll hit netflix soon enough. Even if it doesn't, I still won't get cable. Haven't had it in 25 years, and only had it before that because I could pirated.

If you're giving money to cable companies, you're financing evil, greed, and stupidity.

I wonder if they'll bring on Todd Huth when they do their shark and stingray episode. That dude seems like good luck.

/looks like I got me one of them fish on. Fish on!

I hope they find a mollusk.

I love Matt and Trey. They came on as producers for Kenny vs spenny and made it more awesome

I was greatly saddened by their split last year. They are among my favourite bands, certainly my favourite live band, and Dean Ween is a beast on the guitar, so prolific. Jimmy Wilson on drums helps their live performance too. I wonder if I can favourite you in brown.

That theme song really sticks with you too.

I had my kids watch the Dennis Hopper episode recently. They didn't really get it, but they didn't stop watching.

This sounds A LOT like the old Fishing with John show. If you aren't familiar with it, it's on Hulu.

No, you shouldn't care at all.
