Doktor_Zhivago: start CSB/

I saw a dude do it the other day. He just threw the nozzle on the ground really hard (made a loud enough smack so that everyone turned and looked) and hopped in his car and peeled out without closing his gas cap. Like dude, if you just put it back on the thing and drove off normally instead of making a scene no one would've noticed. Instead like 3 people pulled out their phones to call the cops at the same time.

/end CSB

I'm pretty sure this is a pro-tip, not a CSB

From TFA: "It may have worked 11 other times, but it looks like a Halifax man's luck at the pumps has finally run out."

Ten other times.... It worked ten other times.

Oh well, math is hard.

Subby is probably right that "gas and go" perpetrators should choose a different gas station each time. But all you can conclude from this case is that you should change gas stations every ten times.

LionHound: Around here (Lexington area KY) it's been prepay for cash or use a card, just about everywhere, for at least the past 8 years or so. If they do that, how are drive-offs even possible?

In the civilized World, which most city-dwellers wouldn't recognize, we still have faith in people and let them pump first.

On that fall day, police responded to what they called a "gas and go" and said the culprit was caught on camera.

It doesn't *quite* have the same ring as a "dine and dash."
