Majority of the twins in that picture don't seem to be identical, not that that should stop the author from using a cheesy and overused phrase for his headline.

I know, right? They should have been named John and Michael, like untold millions of other people on the planet.

I was wondering if IVF had anything to do with it, perhaps reaching some peak about a decade ago.  Supposedly many IVF doctors now implant fewer eggs to avoid the twins-quints issue.

No, it's all IVF. Docs put in a dozen eggs. Sometimes one sticks. Sometimes three stick.

The doctors are using too much Clomid on their patients. Twins are a higher risk than singletons.

There was a set of twins on my hockey team one year. They were on the same line as wings. The stuff they would pull made the Hanson brothers look like amateurs. I'm glad they were on my side.

Dizygotic ("fraternal') twins are really no more alike than any other siblings. They can even be of different sexes. For that matter you can have two kids at the same time with different fathers, of different races yet. All they really share is the same mother and the same birthday.

My sister and I clearly look related but were born almost exactly 18 months apart; we've known a few dizygotic twins of the same sex who look much less alike.

At a glance, I'd say the two in the red shirts plus the one to the right in grey, but don't quote me on that.

Wait. Why would you feel the need to highlight that? Is it possible, perhaps, that you think that the female body might shut down when it senses sperm of a different race?

Race is a taught behaviour anyway; we're all humans, descended from a pretty small gene pool, and we've been mixing up since time immemorial. Trying to divide our population up based on things like looks, or where people come from is utterly retarded.

Returning to TFA, however:

"You always have someone to do stuff with," Camden, 12, said.

But on the negative side: "You always have to share the same birthdays, and sometimes the same things," Colton, 12, said.

That was my first guess, but the triplets are all girls, and I am pretty sure the red shirt on the left is a boy.

Checked another website... the triplets are the girl in grey next to the red shirts, and the two darker haired girls behind her.

I thought that was obvious: to back up you up & reinforce what you said. In case somebody didn't know there was such a thing as a non-identical twin. Really, even I am often surprised by what a lot of people don't know.

The second time in this thread somebody missed the obvious by looking for the devious?

I said that 'you can have two kids at the same time with different fathers, of different races yet' because it struck me that a lot of Farkers out there, having been miseducated in the USA, might not know that fact. There's an awful lot of ignorance out there in Internet Land.

I myself saw it in happen in a few cats -- queans in heat get farked by two different toms, then have kittens at the same time some of whom favor one tom and some the other -- and then looked it up to find it happens in humans too. Whoda think it? After all it is not immediately obvious that that could be the case: a lot of people don't see cats mated by two Y-DNA contributors in one afternoon, let alone human fraternal twins with different skin colors and hair textures.

And obviously "the female body" does not "shut down when it senses sperm of a different race" or we wouldn't have Obama to be President. Not only that but roughly 30% of African-American males tested have European Y-DNA, which in many cases is the result of "legitimate rape-rape" by the slaveowner or some other white man in a position of power.

The question is, what problem do you have that inspired you to make such thinly-veiled accusation instead of simply nodding agreement that "Yup, that can happen!"?

Race is a taught behaviour anyway;

Absolutely. It's why some blacks "act white" and some whites "act black," as well as why most whites "act white" and most blacks "act black." There's no more reason for assuming people with different skin colors are different "inside" than for assuming a tabby and a calico are vastly different kinds of cats.

However, you might be surprised that a lot of people don't know that, e.g., some people think blacks loot because they're black -- and that it's only "finding food" when white people do it.

You and I know that -- to give you more credit in public than your baseless and overstraining slur against me shows you deserve -- but there's an awful lot of stupidity in the USofA. As you might have noticed when you weren't so busy being so wrongheadedly touchy.

Didn't your mommy know it's okay to hold you when you cry? Or maybe I should ask you to show me in some pictures which bad man dropped you on your head.
