Day...after day...

They'll play one song because you left them, and then another one for their family, and maybe a third for their heartache...

I forget what 8 was for....

Other acts scheduled for Coachella include Blur, the Stone Roses, Phoenix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, the XX, New Order, Vampire Weekend, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Wu-Tang Clan and a reunited Jurassic 5.

Nice lineup for fans of Brit-pop.

You know that I want that sweet Violent Femmes loving.  But then, well...  my logic tells me it's never going to happen.  But I do have defenses, and they tell me that I didn't really want that anyway.

Although I have to admit:  Sometimes, I am a liar.

I should also note, should anybody be listening, that we are out of mints, so if you could, please pass the LifeSavers.

They bring all their equipment on the bus.

And you can't f*ck with the Violent Femmes. You can not f*ck with this band.

"blister in the sun" is on my top ten list of songs that i hate the most. it's the only violent femmes song i've ever heard and i hate it with an almost supernatural intensity.

Lemme go ahead and give the Wu-Tang reunion show rundown: They show up completely unrehearsed, internal beefs about money, cheap DJ or backing music, denial about their own middle-age, and f*cking worst of all -- the entire 45-minute set will be, "Come on, get ya hands up in the air, come on, come on, yeah, yeah, come on."

It will suck donkey nuts.

I just checked it out on Youtube. Oh, it's that song. I agree with you.

The Violent Femmes have a bad singer, mediocre musicians, and immature lyrics, but for some reason I love them anyways.

/Aside from the way overplayed Blister in the Sun.

I hope you know this will go on your permanent record

As much as I loved the Femmes during that one summer in my high school years, I could really care less. Will probably be a million people reliving that summer in front of their stage so you probably won't even get near them. I would, however, LOVE to see the Stone Roses!!! Surely they couldn't disappoint me live like Spiritualized did.

"Blister in the Sun" isn't my favorite either, but they did do a nice cover of "Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah":

And I thought I was alone in this sentiment.

/seriously, this song is the benchmark for absolute shiat.
//that, and Van Halen's "Jump"

Yes, Blister in the Sun is way overplayed. But they have some good jams and they like to make fun of themselves. The story of how they got started is fun. They would just bring a guitar and snare drum to the line to buy tickets for a concert and play for the people waiting.

Uhhh... cool. I saw these guys perform at a county fair 3 years ago

Blister in the Sun is way overplayed? I think I've heard it on the radio a grand total of 15 times in my entire life. On the rare occasion when I DO hear it, it puts me in a great mood for the rest of the day.

I the Femmes in San Diego in 1995 ( the day the Chargers got their asses kicked by the 49ers in the Super Bowl) and they were pretty awesome. The crowd screamed along with Gordon Gano "EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING!" I have goosebumps just thinking about that.

Alternative stations were squeezing it in between Pearl Jam's "Even Flow" and Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" for about 5 years straight last decade.

you pretty much described the time i saw clipse at pitchfork (chicago music fest).

at least half the set was them trying to get the crowd to "getcha hands up"

i kept thinking, "guys, this is a predominantly white, hipster crowd. just farking do your set."
