I still don't understand what Egyptian Christians have to do with this.

BronyMedic: GBB: To Corrections Officers? I don't believe so. They don't get guns or cars, so I'm thinking they aren't trusted to do the real police work.

Wait. I just caught that part.

Is he a Deputy assigned to the jail, or an actual corrections officer. Because they're two different things. If he's a deputy, he's had to have the psych and intelligence test for his POST training. If he's a CO, it depends on the jurisdiction he's in - some have to attend an actual academy, some don't.

A detention officer, so I am guessing he didn't pass the logic test and was left taking the lower gunless job or screwed up as a full deputy and was stepped down. With logic like 'it was abandoned, so it is okay', I am glad he wasn't a full deputy. Reminds me of a Camden, SC city officer that caused a three car accident in his cruiser and tried to charge the driver from MI. He was literally put in the doghouse, they demoted him to the city's animal control building.

As a part-time scrapper and friend of a full-time scrapper, my friend and I have never took anything that wasn't either on the side of the road with the trash or personally were told by the property owner to remove something for them. We usually take in hundreds of pounds of steel per pound of copper, since most of our metal comes from old appliances and other household goods. We do occasionally get some copper piping that was put with trash by a DIY plumber, but it takes a while to get a bucket full. The saws stay at home and we don't step on abandoned property.

These guys are the lowest.

LOL... I work with this guy.  He's an idiot and I'm shocked that our department has not fired him for other things he has done (not illegal, just stupid).  He used to be a peace officer in another state but never completed the training for Texas.  He's a nice guy, just retarded.  Hopefully, he is history now.

BronyMedic: fusillade762: The City of New London contends that applicants who score too high on a pre-employment test are likely to become bored in patrol jobs, and leave the force soon after the city has paid to train them.

To be fair, small towns have a major problem with people joining their police force, using the department funds to get their POST certification, and then getting a job in a big city department and leaving.

Goddamit! Quit being reasonable and intelligent in here! This is a Fark cop hate thread™

Subby, alliteration is a cop-out.

GBB: Rules to writing good:
1) Always avoid alliteration

A San Antonio Police officer said he caught McGee, 47, in the act, and was wearing his Bexar County Sheriff's Office badge and hat.

Wait, the arresting officer was in Sheriff's Office uniform? Not the perp?

It's too bad the author of TFA doesn't have subby's language skills.
