I was assured that Obama's re-election would immediately lead to the collapse of the entire US economy

/was that incorrect?

they are just anticipating the RAND PAUL election of 2016 and trying to get the economy ready for him.

possibly, but we'll have to wait for the S&P to be unskewed first.

Luckily the GOP led the House through some hoops to save the day, allowing for this.

It would have been twice that if McCain had won, further proving that business frowns on Obama's radical brand of socialism.

I think he's doing a great job on the economy. The market is making lots of money for me and that's the only thing that matters. Who cares about the unemployed and the losers on welfare as long as the right people continue to prosper, right?

Tell us how much better it *could* be.

See, it's ONLY breaking even with the 2007 level after six years. Six long, difficult years under the anti-business strain the Democrat Party is forcing upon the nation.

I look forward to the ass kicking in 2014. Is it possible the combination of Jesus Freaks, Know-Nothings, and out and out bigots that comprise the modern GOP will result in another 30 year reign for the Democrats?

Damn it Obama. You've now been president for 12 years and you keep making billionaires richer.

/what??? You mean there was a President named Bush jr for 8 of those years who drove the economy into the ditch of life at the end of massive profiteering by Kochsuckers manipulating poor peoples economics? F*ck.

The GOP wants to take credit for the good years under Obama and have the Democrats accept the blame for all Bush's crap. Just put the liars back in control and they will do it cheaper and faster and whiter.

Exactly!

This anemic, agonizingly protracted, and tenuous recovery has been achieved despite 0bama's efforts, not because of them.

Remember this book?

ecx.images-amazon.com

James Glassman is the founding executive director of the George W. Bush Institute.

Kevin Hassett is currently a senior fellow and director of economic policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute. He was John McCain's chief economic adviser in the 2000 presidential primaries and an economic adviser to the campaigns of George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election and McCain in the presidential election of 2008. He was Mitt Romney's economic adviser for the 2012 presidential campaign.

If either McCain or Romney had not been cheated of their rightful victories by 0bama, these men would be guiding our economy, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average would have been at 36,000 or higher by now, instead of closing today at a pitiful 13895.98.

Weep, America. Weep for what might have been.

An average worker needs to work a mere 11 hours per week to produce as much as one working 40 hours per week in 1950. (The data here is from the US, but productivity increases in Europe and Japan have been of the same magnitude.) The conclusion is inescapable: if productivity means anything at all, a worker should be able to earn the same standard of living as a 1950 worker in only 11 hours per week.

Productivity and the Workweek

But, instead, they'll just continue to have even less people working 50+ hour weeks, preferably from low-cost labor pools, and keep adding the rest to Marx's army of reserve labor.

We've become very, very productive, but we decided that not everyone should benefit.

I guess that means we've become too productive.

Anything good happens: It's all thanks to Republicans (Recovery after the Bush recession, killing of Osama bin Laden, surplus/near-surplus in the Clinton years)

Anything bad happens, blame Democrats/"liberals" (The actual Bush recession, Benghazi, 9/11, the Holocaust).

Any facts that appear to show someone on the right wing of the political spectrum doing something bad are false; either the facts are 'biased', or the perpetrator is actually a super-duper liberal commie.

So, then you admit that trickle-down doesn't work then, right? Because otherwise, you would be logically inconsistent

Well, if you're a Republican you should absolutely be happy. They're orthodoxy is all about everyone doing what's best for them and fark everyone else. Or have you suddenly started caring about other people, and if so then have you stopped voting Republican?
