So if they did such a damn good job of hiding the rest of the body, why separate the head in the first place?

/I say feed 'em to the "Alligator Gods" they worship so much
//And by "Alligator Gods" I mean the ones at the local zoo

Ok, I'll be that guy. They should have prayed to:

images.wikia.com

He would have acknowledged their gift of blood and skulls and given them power to slay all who stand in their way!

/because "Skulls for the alligator god!" just doesn't have the same ring

This. It's really bugging me. If you can hide the body so well that they still can't find it, why throw the head away in the farking swamp?

You know who else prayed to a crocodile god?

Egyptians

"They used to pray to it. They used to pray to an alligator and rub its head, like a nutjob," Caroleo said. "They said it was the alligator god. They hoped the alligator would eat the evidence. They used to joke about it all the time. It was pretty bizarre."

I bet Joe Pesci would have come through for those guys.

They should have busted the head into pieces with an ax and discarded them in separate places. Or dissolved the pieces of the head in acid.

Why don't these supid criminals read Fark, where I've learned lots of things?

When they prayed, the Alligator God sent them a sign that he would "see them later." He never gets tired of that one.

Most murderers who don't commit the act in front of people, confess to somebody who might turn against them, pick the wrong accomplice and/or kill someone close to them to like their spouses are never caught. And those killers who don't do those stupid things but who are still caught are often tripped up by a fluke mistake, like the Son of Sam's parking tickets.

Anybody who's reasonably careful can get away with thrill-killing a stranger: for example drive down a lonely wilderness road, shoot the first lone pedestrian you see, then calmly drive on back to the Interstate and away with the flow of traffic. (This is one reason why it's safer to hitchhike or even walk where there's lots of people.) If you buy gas or anything near there use cash, don't attract attention to yourself, and don't go by there again. After that all you'd have to do then is never ever tell anybody, just let that be your little secret.

By the way, two things: I myself haven't driven since Fall of 2001 and haven't had access to a gun in far longer than that, and if you do try my idea and get caught don't tell them I put you up to it. Of all the reasons for killing somebody "because some guy on the Internet said this is probably the easiest kind of murder to get away with" is one of the worst and stupidest excuses I can imagine, so don't do that. (And if you do don't ever tell me or let me find out.)

Anyway. This article the thread's about is one example of why I say that most violent offenders are stupid people who have very little to offer Society and are usually worthless even to themselves. Why do we bother warehousing such people for decades?

You are opressing the man based on religion. Why should he be subjected to ridicule for worshiping the alligator god? Stop with this oppressive anti-religion persecution.

This so different from Christians preying to Jesus that to get out of trouble

Pagans have the same religious rights as those who follow the Abrahamic lines

from what i've gathered on TV shows you're right, crimes of opportunity where one has no knowledge of who the victim is tends to be the best bet. successful serial killers put in a lot of mileage moving about just looking for little pockets of opportunity to strike, do the unthinkable and move on. no rhyme or reason for the crime other than "because it's there". and the change the modus operandi (method of operation) each time: toss the gun, next time it's a knife you use, clean and toss, then a rope etcetera. these people inevitably get caught because they are not as smart as they think they are or they are mentally ill. people with right thinking minds would never want to hurt or kill someone else; knowing how badly the victims loved ones suffer make it unthinkable.

personally i can't wrap my head around any government that would send people in to kill others, call it a war, a police action, etcetera. the first war should have been the last war. the pain and suffering and cruelty it brings, merely telling people about it should be more than enough reason to never do such a thing again. yet mankinds history is steeped in violence and bloodshed. it is these mentally deficient people who are willing to harm others that allow other twisted minds to take power and lord over man. so we are cursed to be under the thumb of those willing and able to use pain and suffering to make us cowtow to their will. sick, sad world.

Okay, this really bothers me. How can they move ahead with a case without the body proving the person is really dead? Don't give me 'They found her severed head, so she must be dead.' I have noticed a lot of people functioning just fine without their heads, so I don't buy that severing the head will definitely cause death. After all, a lot of headless people make comments of Fark.
