I completely nonconcur with this AZ oath shiat. The given oath sounds exactly like the military oath of enlistment, if not word for word.

What if you're not American? My son has dual citizenship in the US and Ireland but what if he chooses he doesn't want his US citizenship? What about legal immigrants whos parents are only here for a short period?

The farking GOP.. man.. they are alienating everyone not white. They've been doing it for years and they just double down on the crap.. Is there anyone in the party that is a voice of reason? I can't figure out whether this is an intentional irony (since the oath to the constitution would be, by its compulsory nature, unconstitutional) or if they're just morons that failed elementary-school civics. I guess given it's AZ I should assume the latter.

To be fair, the middle photo accurately shows how the flag was gestured to when saying the pledge for most of the first half of the 20th century. There was also no 'Under God' tucked in there either. That was added in the 50s.

As someone who grew up in the US as a legal permanent resident but NOT a citizen, I don't think I'm really ALLOWED by my home country to pledge allegiance to the US. I'd be kicking up a big fuss if they tried this shiat in a way that affected me.
