At first I was thinking a training mannequin, but then I thought that was too ridiculous. It must be the word "dummy". But then I read the article, and I'm back to square one.

I want to skull fark anyone who has automatic playing sound or video on their website.

I think the Brits call a pacifier a dummy. Maybe they stuffed the pacifier in and and taped it on to silence the poor baby. Kid could have suffocated if his nose plugged.

Perhaps a tag that says "dummy?" Inquiring minds want to know.

I never allowed my children to be treated with a pacifier and I think they're probably better for it. Is a couple extra minutes of noise in a day really worse than the possibility of some life-long oral dependency? Picking up a crying child improves the child-parent bond way better than sticking a place plug in their mouth.

Sheeit, I've seen folks shut their kids up to age four with a pacifier.
The only thing worse are the older-than-toddler-younger-than-tween kids hooked up to kid leashes.

I didnt know what a dummy was either because the article didnt exactly tell me. I couldnt figure out if it was a piece of tape with dummy written on it, a crash test dummy or something else. On my phone the picture in the article looked like a watch.

We have some friends who are Kiwis and they moved to the Midwest. Their little girl was in daycare and could only say a few words, one of which was "Nappy". Every time she said it, the staff tried to get her to take a nap. Eventually they learned that in New Zealish (and the UK), nappy=diaper.

Not one but two farking auto-play videos.
When my son was born he inhaled poop and had to stay in the hospital for a month. They had him on a ventilator and lots of meds. When he came off the ventilator they put him on a C-pap machine. He needed a soother in his mouth to complete the seal on the thing and he wouldn't keep that thing in no matter what. We were *this* close to taping it in there but of course, we didn't.
