Ohio State, on paper at least, will be a monster next year.

So Meyer is doing what he did when he first came to the Big Ten, only to other schools...

I'm kind of ok with it though. Those kids were deceived.

I think NCAA will look to change the commitment date for HS kids from February to November 1st so it happens after all the college football coaches jump ship.

NCAA should also allow players of all sports to transfer with no penalty if the coach voluntarily leaves the university since they sign up for a certain system that is played at that school. If that changes, the kids have the right to do what's best for their career. Will never happen but it should.

Someone pointed this out at one point: Meyer's career success is heavily dependent on coming in and taking a mobile quarterback for his success.  And Braxon Miller can run.

Damn straight. They crushed it off paper last season when it didn't even matter. Carlos Hyde is a monster. I can't wait for next season.

Next year? They were monsters this year! How you get a whole football team to play their hearts out with nothing on the line is something unimaginable in today's NCAA. COTY.

Not quite sure how he could get zero votes for either national or Big 10 coach. AP ranked OSU, so he theoretically was eligible for their COTY. Zero votes?

I completely agree. The NCAA will probably pass a new rule where kids with a GPA above 2.6 can transfer without penalty. It's a step in the right direction but still needs to apply to all kids in a situation like Oregon where you go from a premier coach/douchebag to a placeholder while the school goes through years of significant sanctions.

The Buckeyes found ways to win in games they didn't dominate, which is a sign of a great team, but they just weren't great. Wisconsin took them to OT, and Wisconsin stunk this year (I'm a Badger fan, I should know.) Neither Indiana nor Purdue were great teams, but it took Tosu the distance to best them. They were a team that overachieved in the win column last year, meaning their record was better than they were. This year they will be better, but if you honestly think they could have hung with Bama in a championship game you're crazy.

OSU is three to four Urban Meyer recruiting classes away from SEC level of talent .... IF Urban can get SEC level recruits. He has the name recognition and recruiting acumen. Here's hoping.

He's already proved that character is not a trait he cares about, so he has that going for him.

Counter-argument: OSU wins the title next year.

Brian Kelly and Bill O'Brien, that's why. I'm a Bucknut and didn't have a problem with that.

OSU is in the SEC?

/ if a BIG TEN school had PAID its players, they wouldnt be on a bowl ban, there would have been a death penalty. You have to be in the "elite" conference to cheat THAT blatantly.

Article is not surprising. Right now Meyer is trying to poach an MSU commit and that team isnt even losing a head coach.

The Ducks will be fine, even if they lose a few recruits. The coaching staff is basically the same as it was last year, Chip Kelly wasn't the only reason they were so damn good the last few years. I expect a bit of a down year coming up, maybe a 10-win season, but we'll be back to competing for the BCS Championship very son thereafter.

OK -- defensible choices for the winners. But not a single vote for Meyer? Not one?
