Holy crap is that depressing.
Not the spinal thing so much, but the crushing loneliness of those pictures and the descriptions of the school.

I clicked the link to see what a kid with a spinal disk missing looked like. Then I read the sad article and hugged my daughter.

Any other terrible articles you'd like to bum me out with?

You figure with 2 billion people, classrooms would be a bit crowded.

I know Chinese people tend to be small, but I can't imaging anyone giving birth to a 7 year old.

TFA didn't really clear up the whole spinal disc thing though. Which disc is she missing? Same one as every body or is she missing another one?

/there is no intervertebral disc between C1 (Atlas) and C2 (Axis)

This is actually disturbing to read after all those student/teacher "stories" that got posted...

I swear, if you lay a hand on her...

IamAwake: deanis: So what? Subby is surprised that despite having a disability this person can have a "normal" life? The times, they have a' changed my friend.

you didn't look at the article at all, did you. Does "normal life" mean to you that 1 student and 1 teacher show up to a large abandoned campus and do the "school" thing as if nothing is odd? Do the pictures really look to you to depict "normal" in any way?

You are right. IDNRTFA. bad on me

At first I was afraid that the "missing vertebra" was some disturbing allusion to the kid being flexible (and thus the popularity). Very glad that I was wrong.

They make her run with her teacher? In her condition? I guess if she can take it, but you'd think running with a farked up back wouldn't be good.
