We didn't miss it at all, subby. We just didn't care.

Honestly haven't heard of most of those brews, let alone in a can.

That said, Blue Moon and Pyramid are meh, and Miller tastes like it's half a good beer.

List not only has Oskar Blues, but starts with the Ten Fidy.  List win.

Solid State Vittles: /been known to give me an Old Chub once in a Blue Moon

The ones in my fridge have quotes from "So I Married an Axe Murderer" printed on the lip.  "It's like Sputnik" and "A Virtual Planetoid"

Also, it's only green, black, white and silver, no orange or yellow.  That one must be an older can or something.

Like all things, there are exceptions.  I'll agree that there is a lot of shiat beer in cans.  However, there are some good ones. This list a pretty good place to start if you want to challenge your preconceptions.

Best beer in a can comes from Surley Brewery.

Agreed, my fellow UT beer appreciator. I like their Viennese very much. It's a bonus that they also serve great food.

the can is not the issue. cans are better than glass bottles for keeping the beer.

but, i would have put this one the list, even though it's not supposed to be drunk from the can and it's not very exotic:

www.thebrewsite.com
/ regardless, nice list to have with mardi gras here... since glass is frowned upon for public consumption.

Not a bad list excepting the inclusions of Blue Moon and High Life. Needs more examples from Surly and Oskar Blues. Overall, the list certainly is not The Best canned beers but a good cross section of brewers who can good beer.

No.  There's enough really shiatty beer on that list to throw the ones I haven't tasted into serious question.

First, in the 1990s, came the craft beer revolution. Then, for some reason, there was a second craft beer revolution.

A: I don't understand why they consider it a "revolution".

B: I never saw a second "revolution", just that more craft beers went national. I don't think these guys actually paid any attention to beer of craft brews...

I also like how they say "brewers took notice" that cans were light tight. They've known this all along, you morons.

/As much as I like stories about beer, your blog sucks. Next time pick someone who could drink in the 90's to do a story about drinking trends from the 90's to the present day.

I'd pay top dollar for some Keweenaw Brewing Company Coal Porter right now, but he hasn't made it in forever, and they don't can up their porter or their stout anyways last I knew.

The other stuff is pretty good last time I had it.

As someone who camps and frequents music festivals in the summer that crack down on bottles (for good reason, broken bottle through the sandal will ruin anyone's weekend) I am a huge fan of this influx of craft in cans. People who hate on all canned beers are pretty much the Internet Tough Guys of beer snobs. Get out of mom's basement and live a little...

Sure, their gay fancy magic number 17 pale ale moonrise crotch smell number 8 honey ale isn't that great, but their IPA is fabulous!!!

High Life is not so bad when it's a hot day, you want something light(Not 'Lite'), and all of the specialty beers are crap like Killian's Red. Also good when you are in a mood to hit the dive bars. It's got a place in my personal list. Way below most things, but above crap like Coors Light..

Your wife makes great pancakes: Heady Topper fark yeah!

To all the fans of Heady Topper: if you think that one is good, you need to try to get a hold of Marshall Wharf's "Can't Dog" or the seasonal "Wet Dog." Both imperial IPAs, the latter of the two is wet hopped instead of dry hopped. I think they are both substantially better than Heady Topper. That's just my own opinion, YMMV.

Even more of an opinion, I think my own DIPA is better than both, but I realize that's pure bias right there. :)

Lightweight drinkers? You realize that a normal strength craft beer is usually in the 5-6.5% range, compared to lite beers which typically ring in between 4-4.5% ? Even if you drink Bud heavy, it's 5%. That's about as weak as craft beers are made.

The first beer on this list is over 10% abv. Also, pale ale, IPA, stout, and some of the other styles on this list are hundreds of years old, whereas "American Light" had to be added into the style categories just a few decades ago.

In conclusion, enjoy your miller lite, pansy.
