I never had any interest in Robbin William. Always hated that coked-up, fake gay routine. But a few years ago I was at a charity event that he agreed to host. He showed up on time, they handed him his lines on notecards and he walked out on stage with zero preparation. He never hid the fact that he was standing there with the cards in his hand, took long pauses to read and rearrange them and he killed on every line. It was an unbelievable display of a master at his craft.

Zombie DJ: I'm huge into stand up comedians and listen to Pandora comedy channel whenever I can.
I used to love Robin Williams now when he comes on, his shtick seems as dated as Dice Clay.

His act began to suffer when he stopped doing coke.

I can say that I have always been a Robin Williams fan and I always will be (***ducks***)

I think he should be given a chance to have his own late night talk show (***ducks again***)

Yeah, watching Robin Williams now is kind of like watching Richard Pryor get rolled out on those awards shows right before he died.

Sad, sad, sad

notsosilentbob: Don't get the Robin Williams hate, but I guess you're supposed to hate everything and everyone that anyone else may have heard of before. At least if you want to be one of the cool kids. I thought the bit was funny and pretty typical of his stuff.

Thank you. Robin Williams is like Jonathan Winters. Doesn't need anything to be funny. He just is.

"Why can't Robin Williams do all late night opening monologues?"

because he'd run out of David Brenner material?
