It will end well, since it doesn't have any chance of passing.

True.  This has about as much a chance of passing as the repeal of ObamaCare.  At least that's what I hope.

I'm a Democrat and a gun owner. I won't vote for a Dem that will limit my ownership and I know many other Dem gun owners that won't either. These laws haven't a chance in hell of passing. I see them for what they are.. Knee jerk reactionary bullshiat.

"Assault weapons", like the M1 Carbine and the Ruger Mini-14, serve only the purpose of killing as many people as possible as quickly as possible. As such -- government agents -- including police officers, should be the only people permitted to possess them, because the job of government agents -- including police officers -- is to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

Not only that, introducing this bill can only do two things; MAYBE help her on her next election and help Republicans everywhere on their next elections.

Feinstein's bill won't be enforced by most sheriffs.

So yea, the people who aren't heavily armed want to pick a fight with the people who are heavily armed, all without the support of the cops. And they think this is a good idea.

Good luck.

I'm curious as to why they always include retired police officers. Have they ever seen cops shoot? How about including retired Army Infantry and Marines instead?

Or better yet, howzabout she just pisses up a tree instead since not one thing she has planned in this bill will do anything to save lives.

I think most people realize that a bill like this will never become law. The real question is when will the hysteria end and the prices of guns and ammo come back down to earth?

They say gun rights are what protect the rest of our rights. However, after seeing stuff like the PATRIOT Act passed without as much as a kerfuffle, I think that's bullshiat. The second amendment only protects itself, and is not the backbone of liberty. However, it is the only amendment that people threaten to violently protect. I find that odd.

I need one answer from Feinstein...

If you take away all of the guns, why does the government need any exceptions? Sure, I'll grant that they need "regular" weapons, but they "shouldn't need military grade weapons".

The answer(Of course), is that criminals will still be armed, WHICH IIS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SAY ALL ALONG!! Thanks for proving our point, Ms. Feinstein.

They really aren't though, except for the mom and pop shops. Retail prices at chains seem to be steady, you just need to be there when the order comes in.

In all seriousness. If there were a condition that required action from the populace it is also more than likely that some faction of the military would be involved. It wouldn't be as one-sided as you think.

All of the guns?

"Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel," the Washington Times reports

All except for over two thousand kinds. But sure, that's basically "all".

I was going to make this comment. Handguns are the ones that are responsible for the most deaths in the country. If they want to truly affect gun violence, then the ban would be for both assault-type weapons *and* handguns.

Until the gun fetishists can point out where a right to bear all arms is enumerated, it remains a purview of the democratic process to restrict firearms ownership. Even if only flintlocks were legal, your right bear arms wouldn't be unconstitutionally infringed.

Is that what you call a "srawman" argument?

Either way, it's pretty farking stupid. I'm not down with the idea that locals should or could take down a tyrannical US government, but to suggest it would just be idiot yokels VS "the entire might of the impervious US military" shows a TERRIBLE grasp of current events (going back ten years or more).

Someone on the extreme right will introduce crazy bills, be called the brain behind the gop, and put on the VP ticket.

Someone on the extreme left will introduce crazy bills... and... both sides are the same?
