There are actual humans out there in need of life saving medical care and people waste money on a farking cat. Unfarking believable.

I sound fat: Its...a CAT. that is five thousand dollars people will NOT be donating to things that actually HELP the world.

LeglessDog: What a complete waste of money that could have been spent on something much more worthy.

Do you think that money just disappears? Most vets aren't living the Romney life with millions wasting in off short tax shelters. That money will go back into the economy and be just as useful as any other money. People spend money on all kinds of useless things that could potentially be put to better use. Do you sit in front of a Best Buy and berate everyone that walks out with a big screen TV?

*sigh* This is tiresome. The techniques used to help this cat may be used to improve techniques used to help humans who have been born missing bones or who have lost them due to disease or injury. Furthermore, if the people who gave their money to help the cat got satisfaction from their gifts, it's not a waste to them, and it's not for any of us to tell them whether their expenditures of their own money are valid or invalid. Bla bla farking bla.

I'd like to know why so many douchebags show up at these threads to tell us how horribly unworthy cats are of love and medical care. Maybe if you weren't such insensitive pusbags, people would like you too...

But what if that cat was actually an emisssary from the planet Volkaton and our very existence depended on whether or not we were a species worthy of a compassionate galactic brotherhood or just a rock in the path of a hyperspace trade route?

Never thought of that, did you? Less time on Fark and more time looking for a recipient of one of your life-saving kidneys, you greedy selfish bastard.

At the local animal shelter we found a kitten with both hind legs broken. Her bones were shattered and ultimately had to be amputated. We built her a little cart while she was recovering so she could get around.

A month later she was released back to us and got her strapped to the cart, but would have nothing to do with it. Instead she would lift her body up with her front paws and walk around that way. So in the office there was a cat doing hand stands, chasing cat toys and lasers.

//kitty was later adopted by a staff member.

To be fair, humans have people like you representing them. Cats at least, are occasionally likable.

People really need to get a grip on reality. A cat is not a person. An unborn fetus is a person.

david_gaithersburg: The cat appears to be doing fine. Why put it through the pain of an experiment?

They aren't experimenting on him. The surgery is to prevent future problems with his spine, amongst other things.

Can we stop with the "dusty" meme? It's overused and it doesn't evoke any kind of emotional reaction and instead sounds manipulative and conniving.

If an article is sad, just use the sad tag. Stop pretending that you're too man enough to admit it's sad.
