Fluid: Having read the article, I still can't deduce the purpose of a rocket-propelled cat. Gimmick weapon?

It's not a rocket propelled cat. It's a cat propelled bomb. The bomb is strapped to the cat and presumably it would take that bomb with the burning fuze in the picture and go to the enemy with it. Of course, anybody who has ever dealt with cats knows that all that will happen is it will do figure eights around your legs and blow off your junk.
