This all goes back to the original tribes you came from . Everyone is different although I imagine there are significant portions are the population that came from similar tribes.

If you came from a meat-heavy tribe then that diet is healthier. The same goes for vegetable, grain heavy, or some tribes had a nice balance.

I was easily eating 7 a day, maybe more, for 5ish months last year. Yay garden. Boo that all the vegetables I buy in the store now taste bland as hell and are costly to boot (fresh anyway) and I don't really enjoy them at all. Trying to make it up by eating lots of fruit but eh.

I really need to find someone to teach me canning next year. I know how to in theory but am terrified of f--king it up and poisoning myself.

My favorite lunch is tofu and broccoli sir fried and smothered in hot sauce. My coworkers probably hate me for it, but it's so freaking awesome I can't care.

most vegetarians i meet are pretty awful people, so id hate to see the alternative if they're the happiest.

I've found that well timed drug abuse is the key to happiness, YMMV.

They're like Christians. Most aren't but the angry minority are really f--king loud and grumpy. And if they're in college and just became vegan out of self righteousness they're probably grumpy because morningstar and bread with earth balance and tofu 24/7 out of laziness ain't gonna give you all your nutrients.

Depending on the time of year, some veggies are better frozen or canned.  Peas for sure, and frozen spinach works better/cheaper anyway if I'm making something where I'd cook it down anyhow (spinach pie, feta-rice-spinach casserole, or whatever).

Beer is a vegetable. At least, it turns me into one.

As an experiment in grad school, I ate as a vegetarian for 6 weeks jsut to see what the fuss was about. The first 7-10 days were hell for my bowels & stomach's "routines".

Then things settled down and I felt just as miserable as before.

An anecdote is not data, but I think the link between diet and mood is tenuous at best from my personal experience.

I still have a problem with brassicas. When I was a kid my mother would boil the crap out of them. Cauliflower, cabbage and BBrussels sprouts would smell awful and taste bitter. I think I might buy some Brussels sprouts this weekend and try to prepare them a different way

I once tried some sauteed cauliflower with some butter and garlic, and it was pretty good.

I tried this once, but the floor orderly escorted me out before I got all 7 servings.

Most people don't understand no one else really gives a fark about what they eat or don't eat. People who won't shut up with "OMG I eat yummy yummy meat all day long kill all dem animals LOL I'm so hardcore and sassy y'all can't handle me!" are just as annoying as preachy ass vegans.

We meat eaters only do that when the vegans won't shut the hell up. Normally, we don't bother telling anyone what we're eating unless it's something extra special.

seriously, I did the exact same thing for a week, mostly boiled veggies and kidney beans. on the ninth day my appendix ruptured and I almost died.
