Very pleased to see Christopher Lee's star turn as "the evil Mr. midnight" in Captain invicible  made the list.  What other villain has ever so convincingly sang a song that used cocktail names as the lyrics to a song ethnic cleansing?

10. Nightmare Before Christmas, "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" (1993)
Lots of folks probably expected the Oogie Boogie song, but no. The little trio of kiddie monsters are way scarier, and a lot more fun.

IMO, this one doesn't really qualify because the 'trio of kiddie monsters' are not super-villains, they are only the super-villain's (Oogie's) henchmen -- and not very bright.

So many great ones.  I was going to nerdrage until I saw Freeze Ray from DHSAB.  I would have also included "Sweet Transvestite" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Honourable mention also to Ursula's "Poor, unfortunate souls" from the Little Mermaid.

I don't know what they mean about songs being in their "wheelhouse," but any list without "Be Prepared" in the top 10 is invalid.

I love Dr. Horrible, but he is nothing compared to Jeremy Irons singing and goose-stepping hyenas.

farkeruk: No Jafar (it's a reprise, but awesome)?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR2Qqh-yHEU

This one, which was originally supposed to be Jafar's big number, is even better. It was one of the last songs Howard Ashman wrote with Menken. (That's them singing it together.) Jeffrey Katzenberg nixed it because he felt it was too dark for what was essentially an upbeat movie, so he had them replace it with the Prince Ali reprise. A large part of the reason for the whole mean-spiritedness of the lyrics was due to Howard Ashman going through a particularly angry period over his body deteriorating from having AIDS. I'm hoping that they finally animate it and add the song back in like they did the Human Again number from Beauty and the Beast, but I fear that's not too likely. At lest we have the storyboards to go along with the song to see how it would have played out.

The tragically cut song, performed by Eartha Kitt. Seriously, why do you cast Eartha Kitt if you're not going to let her sing? SHAME ON YOU DISNEY.

Well, I can see why they dropped it. While it is a good song, it total does not fit the character. The rest of the movie she is wanting to be the Emperor, why should she sing a song about living forever or fighting the sun?

Groening and the writers did confirm in one of the audio commentaries that Sideshow Bob's last name was a direct reference to Dr T and the 5000 Fingers.

But for me personally, while Dress Me Up In My Do-Mi-Do Duds is a fun little number, it's more of a song that just happens to be sung by the villain than an actual Villain Song.

/bonus: lyrics by Dr Seuss

Thank you. I get leaving out Sweet Transvestite, but no Toxic Love? No Tim Curry at his absolute sleaziest? Price and Great Mouse Detective (Yes, there's an HM for World's Greatest Criminal Mind, but Goodbye So Soon doesn't even get that!)? Jeremy Irons' Be Prepared and the late Tony Jay's Hellfire only get an HM? And she goes out of her way to explicitly mention that she's snubbing Oogie's Song. What does this writer have against the sleazy, jazzy numbers, those are the best! At least she included You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, even if she didn't give Karloff any credit, dude didn't sing that often.

Came for "Friends on the Other Side," leaving only half-disappointed that "Be Prepared" and "Hellfire" didn't make the list. I know, there was a ton of Disney already.

Also, I would have picked "Everything You Ever" as the best villain song from Dr. Horrible, but that's me.

I would argue that in the South Park universe, Cartman is much more of a super villain than Kyle's mom.
I will concede that in the context of the movie, you would be correct.
And then I would remember another reason why I don't have a girlfriend.

Rock and Rule at #5? ....acceptable. Mok was a truly glorious villain, though. Nothing beats when he finally gets fed up with Angel refusing him and he just outright chokes a biatch. "SHE can SING or SHE can SCREAM....but she still pissed me off."

I don't get that problem, but for some reason whenever I load a Gawker site, it first loads without any graphics or CSS. Then I reload and most of the CSS is there but some graphics are broken. And then I reload once or twice more and maybe the site will appear properly if I'm lucky. Seems to ONLY happen with Gawker sites and only on my home internet connection.

I've got friends on the other side.

Actually, this list could probably be replaced by the nostalgia critic's top ten Disney villain songs.

Tim Curry has to be one of my favorite actors right now (seeing that my favorite past away a few years ago). And I was upset that none of his songs made the list. He has so many memorable ones too.

Iczer: Bathia_Mapes: 12. Batman: The Brave And Bold, "Drives Us Bats"

Woot!

While glad to see that one, I'm upset at not seeing the Batplay that featured A Superstitious and Cowardly Lot.

It's too schwe to be here

Hellfire was a freakin' animated wet dream, complete with flaming ejaculae. How could they NOT put it on the list proper?!

Is it a bad thing that most of these songs are the ones I want to do for musical auditions? Am I a bad person?

//Dream role is Audrey II

Norfolking Chance: unyon: So many great ones.  I was going to nerdrage until I saw Freeze Ray from DHSAB.  I would have also included "Sweet Transvestite" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Honourable mention also to Ursula's "Poor, unfortunate souls" from the Little Mermaid.

Damn it, i came too late to pump for Sweet Transvetite.

Wow, there's a sentence just ripe for misinterpretation..

Cythraul: BOOOOOOO! For no Dr. Horrible Singalong blog!

Are you kidding the singing, acting, story all sucked. I like Josh Whedon, but he should not to musicals ... ever.
