One might argue thats just a coincidence, though its such an iconic shape, i'd be hardpressed to believe they weren't aware of the association.

Lucas is without a doubt the best film maker in the last 72 years. This is just further proof.
Stanley Kubrick has a lot to learn...well, if he wasn't already dead.

So why do Rebels have the Purina logo on their uniforms?

Hmmm. Gonna have to pull out my old VHS tapes again and see if that's even visible in my least modified copy of Empire.

and, that is hardly an easter egg. If you have to tell someone it existed after 30 years, and if someone pointed out to me that wasn't the creator and I say "oh come on, thats just 3 random circles," I don't think it qualifies as an easter egg. Mickey mouse's head in tron, that was an easter egg.

One of my favorite exchanges in Last Crusade was in the catacombs when Dr. Schneider asks Indy what a particular symbol is. He says it's the Ark of the Covenant, she asks him if he's sure, and he says (to a Raiders musical cue), "Pretty sure."

From your appearances on the politics tab I always thought you were sincere, but deeply stupid. Now I think you just made it crystal clear that you're actually just playing a character like Stephen Colbert.

Carry on! From now on I'll read your posts with the proper satirical intent intact.

In the movie that came out a year before he was even born? Sounds legit.

That's how I like my continuity nods, brazen but without "remember the time I grabbed that idol and the hovitos went nuts?" Someone mentioned today how that sort of thing ruined the EU for them. That moment glides right along and gives me a smile every time.

For god's sake, I remember identifying the sneaker during the space ball of rotj. The movies have been pored over to the point I don't quite believe this. Granted, I haven't looked at the pic in question yet.

R2D2 can also bee seen clinging upside-down to the bottom of the mothership in CE3K. I believe it's in the shot with Richard Dreyfuss as he is watching it rise from behind Devil's Tower.

They've got the model used for filming that in the National Air and Space Museum annex at Dulles. Not only can you clearly see R2, but there's lots of other cool things on there, like a VW bus.

there are a couple guys at ilm that try to pull off sneaking artoo into a shot on every show.

it's a less irritating practice than all the mouthbreathing sound idiots that overuse the wilhelm.
