Oh great, so now I have to update my saying.

"Tom Terrific, you just lost the (Super Bowl, AFC Championship, lawn darts olympiad). Now what are you going to do?"

"fark my supermodel wife on a huge pile of money... in my 20 million dollar mansion."

I hope he has good seats in his home theater for the Super Bowl.

It looked great in the Fall, but I suspect it'll collapse in January when you really need it.

It would cost a king's ransom just to run.

Why did it take 3 years?

2013-01-24 01:51:46 PM
I'm surprised he can still afford this after that hefty fine Goodell laid down on him.

2013-01-24 01:52:20 PM
He has 3 superbowl rings, had a good season, is in good health on a team that will be competative against next year, has married a supermodel who makes more money than him.

Hate all you want, but I would kill all of you for a life like that.

Sounds like he's just about ready to retire....

Total guess, but I would say at least the first 18 months was the Califormia building permit process.

to be fair... in California only a few years ago, $20 million was a 1,200 sq ft home in San Francisco...

heard the bubble popped after I left. Friend wanted to buy a $400k apartment condo at one point...

it can't be THAT bad. I'm thinking someone took Tom, or Tom's rep on a ride.

Yeah, I'm thinking Tom Brady doesn't get too upset about losing the occasional football game.

Only if he had the Pats aging defense build it.

Popcorn Johnny: I can't imagine ever wanting a house that big.

I assume his wife will use for throwing parties as part of her work, so there is somewhat of a logical justification. If I was in an industry where social events mattered like they do in the fashion industry, I could see building a house like this. Have a core that you live in and then additional areas that can be opened up and prepped for parties.

That life style must be intoxicating.

Probably what made him think twice about running 3 freakin' yards for a FIRST DOWN!

Pats & Packers have the youngest defenses in NFL (ave. age = 25)

I was going to say, old age is not the reason the Pats D has been bad recently. Hell, the last time they were all that good on defense was when they HAD an aging defense (Bruschi, Vrabel, Harrison, etc). They've been improving pretty steadily recently. I actually think Talib makes them an almost respectable defense. Too bad he got hurt.

It's actually pretty tastefully done, for a McMansion. I mean, it could have been this (the Spelling Manor):

Honestly, unless he has a family member die in a tragic manner (God forbid), there's not much that will make me feel sorry for Tom Brady.

And I say that as a Patriots fan

Funniest story of the day was Jeter pontificating about climate change.

What do you figure his carbon footprint is?

Farking celebrity hypocrites. "The rules are for thee, not for me"

There's no way his wife makes more than him. I swear to Christ, some of you monkeys believe anything from a press release. Gisele's publicist is laughing his ass off.

Forbes isn't a good enough source for you? The woman launched a worldwide lingerie line (more likely just attached her name to one). I'd say that has more reach than an NFL player who, while popular in the US, doesn't really draw the same kind of global attention as a supermodel. To sum up Gisele = global. Brady = U.S.

Yeah, I can honestly say that barring a total an epic collapse in his fortunes, I think that Tom Brady has won at Life. Seriously, the Pope should give him a ring, and he should take a victory lap of the planet.
