On my list of things to try is horse. I'll need to go to either Canada or France for it. It is weird that we humans, well mainly Americans, choose to distinguish between pet and food. I'll admit that I do too, but only with cats and dogs, and only as it applies to me here in my home country. Guinea pig, horse, steer, pig, sheep, yeah I'm good with all that, and I'm fine with other countries' consuming animals I'm not comfortable with. I have consumed dog on a business trip that involved visiting several Asian countries, I didn't care for it but I wasn't weirded out by it either. But I also wouldn't necessarily want to see it in Kroger next to the lamb shanks.

I think people care mostly because it suggests these companies have no real idea of what is actually going into their burgers, and no real quality control on their inputs, which doesn't really inspire confidence in buying their products.

To be fair, this kind of crap has been happening in fast food since the late 1960's. McDonald's were accused of using worm and kangaroo proteins in their meat mixes to save money even back then.

I'm plagiarizing this a little, but:

Next, they'll roll out donkey meat so they can sell "ass burgers" and mean it.

I've had horse in Japan. Raw, even. It was quite tasty, and I don't think there's anything wrong with serving it.

They eat a lot of worse things than horse in many parts of this country. I mean, do you ever read the ingredients in your sausage? How about Bison testicals? Baked Guinea pig? Which reminds me of a CSB.

CSB: I used to work in a pet shop. I got a call from a guy asking if we sold guinea pigs. "Of course", I told him. "Can I order 140 of them? Oh, and is it possible that you could kill and skin them?"
The guy was calling from a local Mexican restaraunt. I was like, "Dude... We are not a restaraunt supplier. What do you think would happen to us if we started selling to you?"

Idiot.

end CSB...
