But lawyer Brian Concannon doesn't buy that.

"It's like lighting a fire in a dry field on a windy day and then blaming the wind or the drought for the fire," says Concannon, who directs a Boston-based group called the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti.

Sounds like their statement was accurate then. The wind and drought would accelerate the pace of the fire, whatever way it was started.

there may have been 640K cases of of cholera but the UN didn't bring them all. A couple of UN Troopers were carriers of a local (for them) form of of cholera. Haiti's 1000's of years of not creating any kind of infrastructure or disaster planning took it from there.

Haiti has only been around for 200 years or so but I agree with you about the fact that they farked up their own country by not creating infrastructure and deforestation. Look at Haiti compared to the Dominican Republic. They share the island and DR is a reasonably nice place. What happened to Haiti? A long string of ruthless dictators robbing the populace is my guess.

Nice job reading that article, especially the bits confirming that the one thing that hadn't plagued Haiti in a century was cholera, until the geniuses at the UN dropped in.

The UN made a horrible situation much, much worse. They killed 7800 people, got 600,000 others sick, then covered it up. And they have moral authority why? Because their PR and their knobgobblers in the media say the UN means well?
