"Amusing" would be if he was a sudden organ donor...excepting the liver, I suppose.

I like the fact that the article felt it necessary to explain the shirt.

Would wearing that T-shirt at that moment be considered ironic? It's been a while since we've had an in-depth discussion of the proper use of irony and sarcasm.

He must be a Led Zepplin fan

Upon obtaining his 6th DUI, it is most certainly NOT irony.

a deputy spotted an unopened six-pack of beer on the vehicle's passenger seat.

That's why I always make sure to drink all my beer before getting in the car!

Ten years in jail, minimum. Preferably more.

If you are such an arrogant self-entitled shiat that you put your own convenience above the safety of others then go die in jail.

Drink OR drive.

But alcohol impaired his judgment. . .he didn't know, being drunk, not to drive.

It doesn't seem to me that he was drunk driving. He was asleep in a car, and no driving.

I kinda thought you had to have your keys in the ignition in order to get busted like that.

Besides, the shirt was making a BJ joke, not a breathelizer joke, really.

So, irony fail...

Doesn't WI have incredibly lax drunk driving laws compared to most other states? Like, they really don't even take you seriously until you're on your third or fourth occurrence.

if the USA courts or government gave a damn about the citizens 2nd offense would be 10 years in the pokey, lifetime loss of license, $10K fine, loss of vehicle. there has been hardcore exploitation on TV, billboards and radio for over 30 years anti drunk driving. everyone knows.

i can't imagine how anyone keeps working on an ambulance or as a cop after peeling a few kids off the blood soaked blacktop.

Plus he was in the driver's seat and the engine was running. It doesn't say, but I bet it was in drive, too.

Nope. In most places, all that is required is that you be "in control of the vehicle". If you have the keys within your posession (like in your pocket), they consider you to be "in control of the vehicle". You can get a DUI is a lot of places, simply by being drunk in the vicinity of a car, if you have the keys on you. Even if you aren't in the vehicle. Even if the vehicle isn't running. Even if the vehicle is locked. I saw a guy get a DUI in a car that didn't even have an engine in it. Just because that's where he chose to pass out.

You're actually better off trying to drive home, rather than sleeping it off in the backseat of your car, in the bar's parking lot. At least if you're driving, you're giving them a moving target. Either that, or make sure the keys aren't in your posession.

Unless you have a kid in the car or you kill someone it's a municipal citation; on par with a parking ticket.

/6 DUI's at 30... yup he lives in the sticks...
