The Church of Rome stands for everything, and I mean EVERY. GODDAM. THING. Jesus held in contempt.

Think about it: Jesus was executed for causing a riot at the Temple of Jerusalem during Passover because he was disgusted by how the religious authorities had turned the Temple into a bank to steal from widows. The Vatican owns its own bank that launders money for the mafia. (That's not a conspiracy theory, it was discovered during an official criminal investigation.) Jesus commanded those who would teach on his behalf to impoverish themselves. The pope wears a triple crown and sits on a golden throne inside a palace where he lives amid regal splendor. Jesus called pharisees hypocrites and snakes and warned about the false teachers that would distort his teachings. Catholicism was founded by a pharisee and eventually co-opted the titles and habits of Imperial Rome (their name and location, the title "pontiff," red shoes of Rome's senatorial caste, contempt for women, etc.)

Catholicism hasn't the slightest resemblance to the teachings of Jesus.

Buddhism is closer. Really.
