Seriously? I've had spicy chicken sandwiches from a few fast food chains and none of them would I describe as anywhere near hot. It's just a little extra spice.

I like how one of the manufacturers, who had been using green/yellow/red color-coding for the lids of the mild/medium/hot, decided that "blue" was the color milder than green. So, since they're marching through the spectrum in that order, if they ever bring out Extra Extra Mild, it'll have a purple lid. And Extra Extra Extra Mild will be ultraviolet.

what's in a taco kit and why would a kit be necessary? fresh corn tortilla, meat stuff (and maybe vegetables/peppers), lime, cilantro, ,jalapeno. then, if you're really crazy, make a salsa or add avocados, or, for the rich people, add some queso blanco/fresco or quesadilla

I mean, i live for tacos, but I've never even heard of a kit (but, your nova scotia-ness and mention of taco "shells" really concern me and think that you haven't had an opportunity to have better tacos)

Interesting. Yet the British are very fond of outrageously hot curries like Vindaloo and Phaal. Our local Indian Restaurant even has a special section of the menu reserved for overly-macho Brits.

My wife was born with a cleft palate. multiple surgeries in her life later, she can't have a hint of anything spicy in her food. it blisters the inside of her mouth. my daughter same thing. my wife and daughter think the orange chicken at panda express is too spicy.

me- i used to put tabasco on everything. my dad is from texas and my mom from eastern north carolina so my idea of ketchup growing up was texas pete or chipotle sauce. i went to guyana on a business trip for two weeks and had some of the hottest stuff i have ever had in my life (it probably was). now, i don't even sweat or have any effects from tabasco.

spent two months in mexico (guadalajara, monterrey, and mex city) and their sauces...nothing. grenada...ok...that one was spicy. still not like guyana.

when i was a kid, i loved the wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. the only one that has any type of heat anymore might be chic-fil-a. haven't had popeyes in a while so i can't say.

I have had many opportunities to have better tacos. Usually when feeding myself I don't plan air travel though. Tortillas round these parts are made with wheat. The only place that I can buy fresh corn tortillas reliably is about 100km away. Around here this is how you make tacos.

I don't do the "eat really hot things like it's a hobby" bit like a lot of other farkers. Still, on occasion, I like to pickup a spicy snack of one kind or another.

I've learned one thing: Most foods labeled spicy/hot/flamin'/etc foods are neither hot nor spicy. Neither are they flamin' or etc. It's very frustrating.

I can only assume now that it's Minnesota's fault. fark you and your 10,000 lakes and 12-month winters! You've slightly inconvenienced me!

Yeah okay, salt and senf... And the "curry" powder they put on ketchup and hotdogs.

I always like going to an indian restaraunt in Germany and explaining to them that I am not German, I have a palette, and would like food that tastes like something please.

tortillas are not exactly a rare commodity. being told there are no available tortillas is like being told there is no bread. sorry, i didn't realize that was the case. i thought they had become ubiquitous throughout north america. that's unfortunate.

/ i kind of don't believe it though. that's like being told you can't buy a bagel because you're not in new york. fine, go get flour tortillas. that's at least better than deep fried shells.

i blew a german guy's mind by eating a spoon full of mild by southwestern US standards hotsauce by itself. he did in fact claim i was not human.

I made fajitas once with a completely mild maranade and all the frauelines family was complaining that it was "zu scharf" (too spicey)... I informed them they should probably avoid the habaneros if the barely spiced meat was kicking their assess

You know, I'm surprised none of you mentioned/noticed this part:

In some McDonald's, they serve fried chicken, real beef burgers, and even spaghetti and meatballs.

More surprising, in some countries where I've been, they actually serve edible food.

I find that funny. Different perception of what is "spicy." Every time that I order Chinese takeout, I ask for extra spicy. I get a dish with loads of extra garlic and ginger, no extra chile. I've learned to just ask for extra pepper oil.

The spicy chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A is hit or miss with the heat. I've had some that have surprised me with the heat, and others that I've had to check to make sure it wasn't the non-spicy by mistake. If McDonalds is good for one thing, it's consistency, and none of their McChickens are hot. I will agree that it's one of the best things on their menu, but I always scrape the mayo first. They almost always put too much.

Good God, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Saw an Indian restaurant in Munich, said to myself, "OK, now I'll get some heat to clear up this cold!"

The salt and pepper I added were the only seasonings any of the food had. It sucked.
