They should cross-promote that with masturbation sleeves made from Jon Hamm's John Ham. That way, you can jack in the john with Jack Ham's Jon Hamm's John Ham Jack Ham.

If it's hockey, there totally has to be a shoot-the-puck-between-Lambert's-teeth contest.

When I lived in Edmonton, I had season tickets to their professional lacrosse team during their 2007 season. They had Dennis Rodman as guest MC one night. I remember saying, "This would have been cool in 1996." Another night, the guest MC was Chris Benoit. This was probably 4 months before he killed his family, so, looking back, it was kinda creepy.

Not that strange of a cross-over, but I adore my Toledo Mud Hens Jamie Farr bobble-head.

Kind of front-heavy, isn't it?

And I'm sure Dennis Rodman was thinking "I could have MC'd something other than friggin' Edmonton lacrosse in 1996." No offense.

I guess you think Maryland ends at Frederick too.

I would love to see this made into a bobblehead:

l3.yimg.com

That's Felix Hernandez. It would go nicely with the Larry Bernandez bobbleheads already in existence.

Yeah, probably.

Okay, thought I would share this here, because it is so true and so bizarre...

My local AHL (American Hockey League) team, the Abbotsford Heat, has put on some dumb promotions (bring your dog to the game night, and so forth), but this one took the cake.

They were honoring Lanny MacDonald (a big piece of the 1989 Stanley Cup Champion Calgary Flames, who are the "big club" of the Heat) with the usual picture and autograph night, and decided at the end of the 2nd period, to honor ol' Lanny...

with SUMO WRESTLING on ice. Yes, you read that right, SUMO WRESTLING on ice.

So out come these two guys in inflatable sumo fat suits, and they put the fake dohyo down at center ice and let these two go at it. Now I am not sure when exactly ol' Lanny sumo wrestled in between the Stanley Cup and the Hockey Hall of Fame induction, but that is how they chose to honor him that night, to the shock and "huh" of the audience around him.

(On a side story, my comment on Twitter after this debacle was "if they honor Lanny MacDonald with sumo wrestling, will they honor Theoren Fleury with drunken boxing?", and the Heat, in another brilliant move, posted my Twitter comment on the big screen (with my picture) as I hashtagged it #AHLHeat (which they told people to do to show their support for the team). I would have hated to be the social media guy, and the promotions guy for the story above, after that night).

So that is my weird cross-promo story, and now that it is out there, hopefully the Heat will do better next time.

Most awesome cross-promotion ever? Chewbacca throwing out the first pitch at a Joliet Jackhammers game. Let that sink in slowly, as the awesomeness could cause brain damage.

They should give out a copy of the latest Jack Ham Bumfights DVD

Fort Worth Fire used to have a "You can't stop a Trane" promotion between periods.  A couple of fans (they usually seemed to pick a guy and his woman) would stand around center ice, while the staff pushed a piece of Trane A/C equipment on a skid at them from one end of the rink.  They had to try and stop it before they crossed the blue line or something.  Nobody ever did that I saw.

They also used to have this R/C blimp they would fly around dropping little promotion goodies.  Anytime the upper deck rednecks caught it they usually had to send security up to get them to let the blimp go.

At a 2010 interleague game between KC & STL they gave a poster of the 85 world series team photo. Not a very odd promotion but clearly trolling.

While Lambert got most of the attention & was great at drawing it to himself, Ham was by far the best LB on the Steel Curtain.

A couple of years ago, our single-A baseball team here in Charleston, WV gave 1,000 of these away...

That's a bobblefoot of the one and only Jesco White (aka - the Dancing Outlaw); a legendary figure from here in the Mountain State, but has less than nothing to do with baseball. I'm the proud owner of two, one of which is even autographed.

Is Jesco still alive?

Surprisingly, yes. I see him here in the Kanawha Valley every now and then...he's older, grayer and fatter, but he's still among the living.

Is he still sporting the Elvis glasses? Please tell me yes.

You mean THESE sunglasses?!?

Actually, when I've seen him, he hasn't had them on, but (as the pic will attest) he has been known to wear them from time to time...

I have a bobblehead of the Chicago White Sox groundskeeper. I guess they honored him because he's been there forever. I have no idea why I was at that game, because they were playing the A's according to Wikipedia. Apparently they had 20k bobbleheads, so maybe I went to leftover bobblehead day.

The University of Akron is giving out a LeBron James bobble head even though he famously didn't go to college and said he would have played at Duke if he had to play a year. As most Akron fans are Cavs fans, they are not happy about this.

Jack Ham owns part of the team.
Mystery regarding "Why" solved.
