I'm curious how this movie will turn out without Vaughn at the helm. I've never really seen anything Jeff Wadlow wrote or directed.

Probably change it to have her brutally beaten by a gang of attackers.

I guess. At that point the comic became what it was poking fun at in the first place.

I didn't like it for the same reason I didn't like The Boys.

Love that this movie is shot in Toronto. However, the Zanzibar should not be getting any free publicity!

Possibly Spoilers below for anyone who hasn't read the comic. You have been warned.

The Director seems to want to keep it in, gang rape and all.

I was wondering that myself.

I'm curious how they will handle the aging of Hit Girl. Part of the awesomeness of the original was because she was such a child behaving in a very unchildlike way.

He was alright playing himself in Entourage. I don't know how big of a role his character was in the comics, but with a mask and limited dialogue he could be okay.

Im thinking flashbacks more then an actual retcon. Would make sense if we see him and Hit-Girl training together before the first movie happening.

That is because they made fun of the fact that Toronto stands in as many cities for movies. Heck, the entire Lucas Lee part was the joke. I had to laugh cause the castle was used in how many movies I have seen. I think it was once the X-Men's base.

I didn't get to go to the castle while on vacation. I was sadz :(

Is it just cheap to film up there? Maybe because traffic isn't that bad in the city and is easily avoidable?

From what I understand is that it is cheaper to film up there and since the city is modeled after many different American cities, it makes a good stand in for U.S cities.

Cheaper than most cities it stands in for. Plus the local film support industry is quite strong and the studio space is getting bigger and more top-of-the-line year after year. Most shoots are done at night to avoid traffic issues (as well as better lighting options).

Modeled after? Holy uniformed man. Toronto is modeled after US cities as much as New York is modeled after London, England.

I drove around up there (including weekdays) and it was simply a pleasure compared to the normal American city. And I'm talking typical downtown. If I compare driving around Dundas to anywhere in NYC, if it were Manhattan it would have to be Sunday at midnight to be comparable in flow. Toronto is simply a beautiful city.

They do make fun of the fact that Toronto often stands in for New York but that's not the reason it's set in Toronto. It's because the guy who wrote the book/movie is from Toronto and accordingly based it there. All the locations in the book/movie are well known Toronto spots.

I know he that the entire series happens mainly in Toronto with a few places happening else where, Kim moving to the Canadian forest area. I love the graphic novels and read them on a regular basis. Wish they kept to the book a little more. They would of had fun doing a lot more of the fights in certain places.

Nope. Katie gets gang raped. Nothing even remotely like that happens to Hit Girl.

Expolaris: The Director seems to want to keep it in, gang rape and all.

Mark Millar isn't the director. He's the writer of the comic, but he has no involvement with the movies beyond producer (which he gets for pitching the idea of making a movie based on the comic). He likes to run his mouth about things that either aren't true, never end up happening, or that he's not in any position to speak to. Also, everyone else has already said the gang rape is out.
