I always thought Arial said "I am too lazy to change the default"

/Uses Arial almost exclusively.

Clearly, they've confused Arial and Comic Sans.

Occasionally highlighting text and pushing Ctrl-B and/or Ctrl-I requires too much effort?

I love people who go on these anti-font rants. I don't understand them, but they crack my shiat up. The truth is that most of these fonts have a use at some place and some time, whether it's Arial, Bembo, Trajan or even Comic Sans. Some of these don't have a place often, but it's still there. Sure the Cool Kids like to talk tough, but most of them don't know what they're talking about.

I use Courier for scripts, Ariel for everything else.

As long as it's legible, I really don't care.

Hack Patooey: Font fanatics need to relax

The only problem I have with fancy font users is that most of the time they're pretty high on the attention whore scale.

Look at me! I'm using a fancy font in a different color in business correspondence. What I have to say in my email/document is more important than what you have to say!

I tried to care about fonts, but I just can't find one that I really identified with. I'll just stick with Ariel or Times New Roman or whatever the word processor is set at.

I like Googles roboto font.. Does that make me an elitist hipster?

I find it curious that the artist didn't bother actually using the fonts in their respective posters.  Seems a bit lazy.

I've always been a Times New Roman type of guy, which probably means I'm some sort of insufferable scrotum in this guy's worldview.

I used to pay some attention, but with W7 and Office 2007 all my stuff is in Calibri or Consolas by default and those are both pleasant enough. The OCD geek in my always gravitates to monospaced fonts for work though (except email, reports, etc)... I just love me some aligned columns.

So Lars Willem Veldkamp says that Arial means "I am the devil" and then uses Arial in his description of what each font means. So is that an admission?

That threw me too. Looks like they used Helvetica, which is labelled 'I am a conformist' in the list. Maybe meta?

All the default fonts on my machine are really ugly, especially if I'm looking for a good comic font.

Really, really?.

Are we discussing fonts now?.

2013-01-24 11:55:55 AM
I don't mind Arial for anything on screens where the serifs can make the letters look fuzzy, but on a printed page anything with serifs is much easier and quicker to read. Using any sans serif font slows down the reader, which may be your intent.

Etc.

When people can't tell the difference between two different characters, you fail as a font.
Comic sans may be used inappropriately 9 times out of 10, but that's a problem with the user, not the font.

This says to me that you are an introspective, sensitive and intelligent individual. Your criminal use of the drop shadow, however, indicates that you are a worse person than Joseph Stalin and you should be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment with Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" playing 24/7 in your cell.

Thanks. I feel much better. I could never understand all the hate for Comic Sans. I always liked it because it's easy to read.
