burning_bridge: No article about American jobs being cut, or scaled back, or exported. Just some speculation, based on nothing, tossed into an article about how production is increasing in a foreign market that is currently expanding.

This is the important thing that Republicans are lying about. Yes, production in China is increasing. But they are NOT moving American production to China, they are increasing production in China. US production is not taking a hit from this.

You know what this is? An American business growing and having success in a major emerging market. The HORROR!

Mitt who?

Yes please: FlashHarry: i love, love, LOVE that republicans simply cannot move on. whether it's sandra fluke or todd aikin, or this, instead of taking their lumps and weathering a short news cycle, they DOUBLE DOWN and turn a weeklong story into a long-term thing.

it's beautiful. and they'll never stop. because they can never admit fault.

I think you're missing the point to some extent. The election is over, Romney lost, no amount of hindsight into certain statements is going to change that. At this point, the question should be how much confidence can we put in fact checkers, what sort of influence should we allow their conclusions, and can we really trust them to be unbiased? You can easily be anti-Romney and still admit that Politifact was wrong.

Except Mitt publicly stated that Jeep would move ALL production to China during a campaign stop in Ohio. The ad came later.

Politifact starts out their article about the statement Romney made in Ohio, and talks about the ad later in the article, about how it related to Romney's public statement.

PJ Media and every other idiotic blog is:

A) Pretending that the only time the Romney mentioned Jeep and China was in that ad.

B) Pretending that Politifact was ONLY talking about the ad in their "Lie of the Year" article.

It's quote-mining bullshiat.

RedPhoenix122: Tarkus: Republicans lie, that's all they do.

No, they also obstruct, cheat, and give their friends tax breaks.

Get over yourself, Subby...

The only jobs that are "moving" to China are going to be making Jeeps that STAY in farking China. Taxpayer bailout or not, do you REALLY expect Jeep to make the shiat over here and ship them to China?

Let me guess; When your Mommy squeezed you out, the Dr was a little slow on the draw, and you shot right out onto the floor, bouncing of your tender little noggin. Add to that a childhood spending eating lead paint chips and 18 years of "Those damn, dirty Democrats' indoctrination, and you are now ALMOST as stupid as Stephen Kruiser from The PJ Tattler...

If you want to talk about quote-mining, it's pointing to that one speech when he said "all" and then using every other mention as a callback. In the Lie of the Year article they specify it's the ad they are calling a lie. Either way, if that was the lie of the year 2012 must have been a banner year for honesty.
