Daddy's all gone.
He took back his first questioning - "I was only telling a lie."
Believe it or not.
A real family man, raised up family
But also a mean old man.
Line 'em up.
"Walking my baby back home" - But he's using a hand truck.
"Carry Me on My Way" they said.
"Whenever You're Ready" he replied.
Down to the basement... There we are.
The location? A secret o' life.
Hard Times.
If I keep my heart out of sight, maybe he won't cut it out.
Storage boxes and duct tape? He's their handyman.
All scrunched up - Is that the way you look?
Not too many golden moments taped into a box.
"Sleep Come Free Me" every night.
At least with the parents out of the way, they can say "Isn't It Nice to Be Home Again" and mean it.
No more "Don't let me be lonely tonight," there on the shelf.
I hope the parents won't be back on the street again.
Everyone needs a box or two of Daddy's Baby.
Hopefully, their fears will be fading away.

/ Get them all in there at one sitting....

Why do people who horribly abuse their children get such small sentences? Those farkers should be going away for at least 5 years each.

A Terrible Human: Why do people who horribly abuse their children get such small sentences? Those farkers should be going away for at least 5 years each.

that's not horrible abuse, you've read much worse. the big fail is the system or lack of that saw these parents from childhood to adult. God knows what happened to them to make them think this was appropriate parenting.

seriously, parents need to be tested, licensed and approved or they should be spayed & neutered. if these cases were always people from a certain country or of a certain religion/background people would be demonstrating to right the wrong. we choose not to protect infants & children = we are all to blame.

Well, in addition to their sentences, they're basically never going to be able to get jobs ever again or rent houses or anything else that requires a background check.

And, fark, man, look at those people. They were brought up the same way.

I like how both parents pleaded guilty to the same crimes, two counts of child endangerment and one of unlawful restraint, yet only the man is getting jail time for it. Even if, as the article states, all of the punishment was overseen by the father there are 3 other people preparing the boxes, pouring water on them, etc. I think the person ordering the hit, as well as the hitmen/women, should be held equally responsible.

I don't know dude maybe my opinion of abuse is biased,I had a terrible and very abusive childhood, but that's farked up. Yes I have read and experienced worse but the idea of taping a child into a tiny box as punishment just farks with my head.

ghare: And, fark, man, look at those people. They were brought up the same way.

If they were brought up in an abusive household they could have chosen to spare their children and not repeat the farking cycle.

I wondered about that too. Maybe it's also because they're his own kids so he's held to a higher standard? The others are step-mother and uncles. I dunno why that would make a difference, if it did, but maybe?

Look, I'm not condoning the behavior, but I accept the fact that there can be mitigating circumstances involved in sentencing, and that knee-jerk "oughta be more jail time no exceptions ever" absolutism is not necessarily in the best interest of offenders, victims, taxpayers or society at large.

My dad was a bridge painter who once did a job down there. It soon became known as "Stupidville" around our house. All the stereotypes about Ohio? They're because of places like Steubenville. It's Ohio's version of Florida.

And yet no one will consider sterilization as an option for punishment? with too many people on on the planet and people that behave like this, when will agree that some people have abdicated the option to have more children? Susan Smith and these folks certainly deserve that.

Absolutely agree.

If the government presumes to be responsible for removing children from unfit parents, hasn't it neglected that responsibility by allowing them to breed in the first (or second or third) place?
