(Daily Mail)   So much for the star power of appearing in the Star Wars prequels. Anakin Skywalker was last seen growing a ridiculous molester beard and frequenting Thai massage parlors   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 124

Grapple: Here's what will always bother me... All Jedi are good, yet they believe the prophecy that Anakin would 'bring balance to the force'. if you're all good, then his only choice to balance was to be BAD. And he did turn bad. Why was anyone shocked?

Yeah ... that one seemed pretty obvious to me as well. The light side has been dominant so long they comment on how long it has been since they last saw a Sith ... so how can bringing balance not mean shifting things to the dark side?

Tickle Mittens: peterthx: Tickle Mittens: 4NSpy: Didn't he make some serious bank on those movies?

If I had that kind of money, you better believe I'd be rocking sweats 24/7 and getting massages daily. Only difference would be that I can grow a mean beard.

Didn't he say he was retiring after the SW movies to become an architect?

Funny you mention that, because after he completed Life As A House he said he was going to retire to be a gay jedi.

Can always count on the dweebs on FARK for ruining the potential of a thread:

This time by ignoring the POA he was getting recently, the uber-hot Rachel Bilson.

/if getting Rachel Bilson makes you a gay Jedi...

Wow, white knighting hayden christensen. Now THAT is gay. No one is going to fark you, not him, not her, no one. Realize it was a chance to make a Life As a House reference, and you need to settle your jimmies before you injure yourself.

As a personal question to you, do you find it perhaps a little unseemly that some persons patrol the internet hoping to stumble upon an oppotunity to correct people on the mating habits of lesser known "celebrities?"

I think he was more about flimsy excuses to post pics of how women, not dying for an excuse to defend ol' Ani.

Besides its pretty relevant given the many meanings of the word "beard" and people calling him gay etc. etc.

Forbidden Doughnut: Lernaeus: Please, subby, the pain runs too deep.

I've spent the last decade trying to block the memory of anything Star Wars related after 1983.

Bioware did a pretty good job with the franchise, although HK-47 isn't exactly "family-friendly", and I'd be shocked to see anything like that character in any future Star Wars film...

timujin: Hayden "NOOoooOOOooo!" Christianson and Nicholas Cage, plus it's directed by a stunt man? I bet we have some potential Oscar nominations here.

At least the writer's work has good reviews, though how much of that is due to him I don't know.

You're saying that was Hayden who delivered that line and not James Earl Jones?

Snapper Carr: DenisBergkamp: Way too easy to hate the guy with how awful those prequels were. I'm struggling to think of one halfway decent performance from any of the stars..

Ian McDiarmid managed to overcome the terrible scripts and lousy directing and made Palpatine a good villain

To a point. Once his face was ruined he was a couple of goofy sound effects away from being a villain in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Failed to understand the prophecy, the Jedi did.

At 800 years old, admit to liking 2 and 3 I can.  But kill Jar-Jar with my light-sabre, I would.

I'm not going to bother anyone else with my Star Was ramblings but the story does make sense, if not perfectly executed.

Wars that is. But yes, the story makes sense. Even if the dialog and acting left some to be desired.

Goofus buttfumbles pics of hot women. Gallant just posts them. Wrt to "gay" being tossed around, check out christensen's filmography, all will be revealed. I'm content to take the other poster at his word, just means he's retarded. And that's ok, there are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives.

Ford's made more than one or two stinkers, for sure. Some straight to video stuff in 2009, I believe. How bad must a movie suck to go straight to video when iit stars Harry farking Ford?

Crossing Over was exhibited in a grand total of 42 domestic theatres during its brief theatrical release. It earned less than a half-million dollars during its 77 day release window.

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $455,654 12.9%
+ Foreign: $3,074,215 87.1%
= Worldwide: $3,529,869

(per box-office mojo)

It's my view that that the utter failure of The Mosquito Coast* (both financially and critically) broke his spirit. He's done nothing but sleepwalk through all of his subsequent roles with bearing the countenance of someone who has a permanent invisible schmear of feces on his upper lip.

*really, really good and woefully misunderstood and under-appreciated.

...while bearing the...

Also fun fact:

The role that Michael Douglas ultimately essayed in Soderbergh's Traffic was first offered to Ford (who hemmed-and-hawed about it to the point where Soderbergh said "F*uck It!" and offered it to Douglas.)

Someone should kick his ass for turning down Jurassic Park. Not that Sam Neill wasn't good but that would have completed the Holy Trinity of Lucas/Spielberg characters. Based on the timeline he must have been working on Patriot Games instead.
