I liked the one about the farmer that was tired of cars running into his fence (he has sheep). So he put the forks on the tractor and lifted the nice Citroen off the fence during a snowstorm to repair the fence. It's in the sidebar. I guess I have time to give you a link: Link

If your house burns down, you'll have some 'splainin to do.

Better to bury them. Stuff them in pvc pipe, and dig a hole. They'll never find them.

Those are wimpy UK guns.

My sister's friend once lived in a house where a member of the Dixie Mafia and his wife were tortured and murdered. They found jewels, diamonds, etc in the walls. I'd rather have that than guns.

damnit... this is in the UK... so these guns will likely never see the light of day again...

I like how gun nuts now means anyone who even knows about guns. It's really losing it's stigma as of late. They took it back.

Jackpot!

Wassat? England? Nevermind. No matter how valuable the guns are they will be confiscated and melted.

Smeggy Smurf: 30 weapons is a huge arsenal?

Yep. Just yesterday there was a "mass" shooting where three people were shot and two of them were the shooters.

FTA "The guns were wrapped in newspaper dated March 1996 - just days after the Dunblane school massacre in which 16 children were shot dead.

Cops reckon they belonged to a previous owner of the house and were unregistered, so he hid them in case they were seized in the wake of the murders in Scotland."

But registration is only keep guns from criminals right? It would never be used as a list to confiscate them from law abiding owners or an excuse to take all guns after a tragedy even if it happened in a completely different part of the country and you had nothing to do with it.

The government is your friend and only wants what's best for you. They would never exploit a tragedy to disarm law abiding citizens. He was just a paranoid nut.

Except that's exactly what happened.

Thankfully the same can't happen here.

never say never, but think of the logistics of disarming the american public. it would take years. i can't imagine the amount that would have to be paid in man hours to round up the inventory. items would have to be checked in, maybe disabled, go through some sort of process and ultimately be stored somewhere before they were disassembled for recycle. my guess is it would cost billions of dollars to disarm hard working tax paying voting hunter types. the folks that are safe and sane and have had firearms around them all their lives. what a field day for the hoodlums with unregistered firearms, the idiots that hold pistols sideways and what-not. that would be horrible.

i don't know how it is these days, but when i was a boy there was at least one crew cut God Bless America WWII Veteran on every block whose house was a frickin' arsenal, God forbid the Reds ever decide to get frisky.

I had my architect add a 5'x10' area sticking out of the foundation. Paneling slides up and down to cover the gun safes in the basement . Good anti-theft measure.

Assuming there are one or two valuable ones averaged out by some junk, estimate $300 per long gun, $200 per pistol.

30+ firearms.... I'd offer $1000 for the lot and let them talk me up to $1500, keep the two to four gems that are worth preserving and sell the rest at $150 a pop on consignment through my favorite pro-shop.
